Your new hair color looks great! Ayaka's tennis lesson made me laugh out loud too! I thought Mako should have got a cube for the message of her caligraphy and I agree she exudes leadership. All of them were good but Maya's story and JYP's message was my favorite part of the Star Quality evaluations.
Thank you!! Ayaka is so funny! I love her personality! And I agree, I think Mako deserved the cube. I’m not thought all of Star Quality yet but I agree, Maya’s story was so beautiful and touching!! ❤️
Ayaka is funny, and I've seen Japanese comments call this her legendary tennis lesson. One of the most moving parts of Nizi Project for me is with Maya and JYP's interaction in this segment. Gets me every time. Being a fan of martial arts I thought it was very cool seeing that Riku was a 3rd degree black belt in Karate, and her routine was good as well. Loved Mako's calligraphy and message.
I enjoyed watching it. I never thought that I would be made to cry during this screening. This audition is not just a competition, but a chance to see the humanity and see a moving story. That's why you want to watch it till the end. looking forward for next time. But please don't push yourself too hard and take care of your health.
I think that is a beautiful way to describe this! Learning more about these girls and their stories is very touching. I will watch all of it! I want to experience their whole journey. Thank you, I appreciate that ❤️ I will do my best to stay healthy!
I got the sense that JYP’s line of questioning after Ayaka’s performance was to feel out the Sincerity character pillar: Was what she did natural or a planned act targeted precisely towards “winning the game” that doesn’t accurately reflect who she innately is and thinks? And in that regard, since she passed that Sincerity evaluation, she was able to be granted a cube. I look at Maya’s “Ugly Duckling” story as a reflection of her personal k-pop trainee journey: For whatever reason, she didn’t fit in at YG and left, but she was hoping to have found her “flock” as a JYP trainee. I also find the swan imagery suitable, as she gives off a proper, regal, serene vibe, in my eyes.
If Mako and VCHA's Kaylee met, and had a big pile of really sour food, they'd be casually talking while nonchalantly eating all of it. 🤩 The camera would be jiggering a bit because the camera person would be the only one pulling a face, just from watching. 😅 Ayaka's skit was so many things at once: dorky, adorable, humorous, engaging, creative, etc. At the end when she explained how she prepared it, and replied that it was simply how things turned, that was the cherry on top. 😅 Ooh, you're a writer! Did you publish anything? I've had bits of writing interest too, for many years, but didn't cultivate it much until the past two years, since I'm also into drawing & photography. Right now I'm gradually writing my first short novel (light novel). I'm probably not much of a verbal storyteller like Maya, but rather my skills are more like planning out the plot and chemistry between characters.
Haha honestly, I am all here for getting them together for a sour food live 😂 Ayaka is so funny!! I absolutely love her personality. I have a love for unique, quirky people ☺️ I am! Not published quite yet but it’s one of my goals!! I’ve got one finished novel and about 8 others in varying stages of being done 😅 That’s awesome!!! Let me know if you get published, I’d love to read it!
@@StayMultiverse I should be the one saying "Let me know if you get published..." since you're ahead of me. 😅 I'm only about a quarter done with my rough draft.
Are you a writer? Do you write children stories? I have a little sister. I'm teaching her English and I usually find her stories and comics to read. I'd love to see your work some day if you don't mind.
On a meta-show level, now that you've watched this episode, you can see some connections between Nizi Project Season 1 and A2K. Mako's lemon-eating and Riku's karate got combined into Kaylee's Taekwondo performance + sour warhead-eating. And I remember when I first watched Kendall's art showcase and hearing JYP's comments about her communication skills, I was thinking - she's A2K's version of Maya.
I noticed that as well!! It’s interesting seeing the parallels between the two shows. It makes me wonder if they watched Nizi for inspiration. I could see that, Maya and Kendall both express themselves very well!
It's so much fun drawing parallels between the two shows. There are definitely three or four contestants that feel very similar to certain A2K counterparts to me, but it might be premature to dive into that this early. You could also draw some parallels between Nizi Project contestants and Twice members as well. I totally agree that Maya reminded me a lot of Kendall at this point in the show, though. Both seem like serious, mild-mannered but confident and well-spoken types who make up for skill limitations with a knack for expressiveness both on and off stage. Stylistically, they're pretty different, though.
With Maya’s story, I wonder if these girls sometimes feel isolated? That drive that makes them push and practice when all the other girls are playing? They come to Nizi Project and discover they’re swans? 🦢🦢
To add to that, I think JYP especially had a responsibility to make that clarification at the end because his specific style of feedback can be taken so personally. Being told that you aren't skilled enough is one thing, but the fact that he focuses so much on judging and making bold claims about a person's expressiveness, self worth, naturalness, and having something intangibly "special" really makes it dangerous and easy to mistake rejection/failure as a conclusion that "you as a person are worthless." Especially considering how young they are. Also, I'm surprised Mako didn't instantly get a cube, and I find it amusing that the show keeps calling them cubes when those things clearly aren't cubes (maybe mistranslation?).
That’s a good point, he does tend to be very direct and his type of comments can toe that line. And girls of this age often take things to heart so it’s a hard balance to strike between criticism and encouragement. I’m a little surprised as well! I’m curious what the reasoning behind that was.. That’s exactly what I was thinking!! They aren’t even cubes so it’s confusing haha

Mako gives me Camila vibes, an all rounder with great leadership skills, besides being a kind person
I can definitely see Mako and Camila having similar vibes!

I wish I could!! But adding another day would be a little too much for me, I’m sorry…
TT Maya!
Maya tho- 😭
In this episode,I think Ayaka and Maya did pretty well In Star Evaluation.

I’m a writer but I’m not published yet! I’m working on mostly adult and young adult novels. But it is my goal to get published someday!

Lol, when you said you had no idea what you’d do for Star quality I instantly thought of Ayaka 8:18

The thing i hate the most about this reaction is i am going to have to wait another week for the next episode
Not going to lie, you had me for a second! I went from sad to happy so fast 😆
But I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos ❤️
