I had some this similar happen to me. I was installing a 7 zone geothermal system and my boss connect the field loos and didn't tighten the pump fittings and the system never hold pressure. he went as far as to dig up the loops to look for kinks. it was my helper that found the problem.
Keith it’s an old age question push or pull when in truth regardless if the circulator pump is installed on the hot side or return side it is “pushing “ but i prefer on the return side due to the temperature the pump has to endure.. 180 degrees vrs 90-110 degrees ..any electric motor the hotter it runs the higher the resistance in the motor windings an as such the higher the amp draw.. yes some say the motors are design for 180-200 but a little common sense an basic oms law dictates regardless of what the manufacturer says . Circulation motors last longer on the return side, pushing back to boiler. Due to the operating temperature… The only difference is when running a ton of zones valves their is a quicker response time if the pump is installed on the hot supply side due to the pump ability to also draw in the water it needs.. But in my years experience the independent zone response time versus pump life if possible I always install on the return side. But there is times there is no choice. 🤷🏻♂️ we could ask 1000 HVAC contractors that same question some will say always on return some will say always in the supply
Got to get you that guard dog install manual. Should a put that lwco in a tee on the purdy supply you just made instead of at the ass end of the manifold and wired it in. You had the dang thing all apart. I would have expected much better from you...
Low water cut off is plastic , Teflon tape is plastic- ish. I know what the engineers who wrote the instructions say but where’s the conflict. Not rusty at all. Still a great video , plenty for probes to learn from.
I think it looks like it was pulling air in from that automatic air vent. If those pumps were pumping away from that air vent, it could be going into a negative and sucking air in through the vent. air rises. That’s why it goes right to the second floor?????
Hey Mike Daick, of Mikey Pipes Plumbing not easy being cheesy. I like your podcast/social media. I don't see a thermal by pass on system??. Come on Mikey, what about the potential flammable sewer gas in utility room. I know of three homes that exploded because of sewer gas leaking out of system. Love you buddy, you be safe out there.
🤦♂️🫣 what can you do??? It’s a F’ed up install job !! Short of ripping everything out and starting over?? Only recourse it to band aid the system as best you can… It’s dam frustrating that the homeowner had paid for a professional install only to get a F up system coz the installer was incompetent!!!!😮 But in many times?? The customer GETS what the paid for.. cheep price is always cheep install job and it is dam frustrating to go into something like this and WE haft to deal with it….. Sorry for ranting been a hair pulling week of do it yourself’ers and totally incompetent installs… ❤👍 nice job trying to make something out of that mess
Great work, Mikey.
Love the flags you fly on your building. If I lived in your service area you’d be my first call!
Thanks, that's nice of you to say!
Great video. Thank you for sharing
You're welcome!

Is it better to push or pull the water? I have seen it done both ways so does it depend on the application?

Is it normal to use black iron?
very good video Mike, thank you 💯
Very welcome
You lost a another one ?

You know I'm a little rusty, this was just one of many of the things I was going to do on this job. But I'll get to the guard dog soon.
I would have put the self bleeder where the relief is , and the relief valve on the bull of a tee under the relief valve. And bleed on the run.

Make the trades great again Mikey Pipes. IM back. #LoveBosch Smash that Like Button folks.
So is it code to have a low water cutoff or just smart? If they don't want to pay then your not liable?

That is one possible explanation for sure.
Mike, how many hours to re-pipe

I thought on the plastic threads it says to only tape no dope? Boilers aren't common place on the west coast
True
I hate those shutoffs that decide to start leaking after u touch them. Bratty Friday the 13th valves.
🥃👍🏻
old johny shark bite

Will everybody in a UA-cam world I hope you had a better Friday the 13th then mine was
Didn't even realize it was Friday the 13th until your comment.
Well I guess that we could say you can make chicken soup out of a lot of chicken well you know
Why would not have addressed the low water cut off on the initial visit?
we didn't notice it.
does my answer make you feel better, cause you come off hostile and acting like you know it all. just saying.
I'm not feeling better.
@@curt3548 oh well
Great job but sometimes the aquastat is going higher than it should and starts to steam water. Well done mikey's
Nice job Mikey !
Thanks 👍
Wow. Happy Friday Mike. Didn’t appear to be piped the way Dan Holohan would of liked but at least it was pumping away. 😂 Great work as always
You're right, the piping could be better, but that's a different video, for a different day. 😂
1st😂
bingo
Who engineered installation? And Teflon tape on all thr iron fittings?
