There is a story for how the special performance here took place. Billy wrote that song about the Guitar for his 2nd Blues Deacons CD. Popeye Curtsinger heard it and came to Billy at a gig a few years back. He asked Billy if he could play that song for him at his Memorial if he went first. Billy said he would, if Popeye also promised that he would play for Billy's memorial if he went first. They agreed. Popeye went first... He had actually pawned this special autographed guitar at some point before he passed... Billy played that song as a dedication to Popeye shortly after he died at his gig at the Clark Bar... I was there and videoed his tribute to Popeye and the song... I sent the link to Popeye's now recent widow Becky.... she cried and cried... she went to the pawn shop and found the guitar still there and bought it back! She called Billy and he remembered his promise to Popeye and agreed to play the song Popeye loved on Popeye's guitar...I was there to video it...then Billy told me he just happened to have a gig that very night with Blues Deacons...
