    Deterrence is the art of producing in the mind of the enemy... the FEAR to attack.

      that good and all, but what happens when that fear isn't enough to deter an enemy from attacking the US

      @Caleb Miller we could do that, and possibly use whatever tricks we might have up our sleeves

    Deterrence assumes that a totality of military risks are calculated by the Adversary. One can either introduce variables that cannot be calculated or variables that, when calculated, are too great to militarily engage in responsibly, or variables that are known to invariably result in catastrophic losses. The safest deterrent is the one that ensures a certainty of catastrophic loss upon specific provocations. The assumption that a totality of military risk will be the overarching determinant of an Adversary's attack plan, though, does not always hold firm, hence the risks which we must factor into strategics. An example is when the Adversary's primary political, ideological, or religious goal involves catastrophic traumas to entire civilizations.

    Vandenberg Air Force Base is the only place you want to see a Minuteman missile being launched from. Nuclear weapons should only be used in the most dire situations.

      how about today's situation, you think your minuteman can match Russian RS28?

      @@user-km5kj8xh1x America literally did nothing to Russia until it started bounties on us soldiers in middle east and hacking our infrastructure with cyberattacks. You'd think after Covid there would be Russian soldiers in Wuhan instead of Ukraine. Makes no sense.

      In further news today, Beijing has accused the Federal Republic of America of quietly stationing troops in 150 different countries under what it calls an "expansionist policy".

    • @gendaminoru3195
      @gendaminoru3195 6 років тому +1

      actually, we're still contracting - not expanding. Obama also ceded the polar region to Russia and China, in addition to his handiwork in the South China Sea. The man pissed Duterte off so much it will be a long time before we can use Subic Bay again for a permanent forward base. And don't try to come back with we don't want it, because we are trying to get it replaced by Cam Ranh Bay.

      or perhaps you can tell us what treaty or agreement prohibits the US from testing ICBMs just as we have since the 1950s on a routine basis. OR maybe just admit that you hate US power.

      Genda Minoru This guy has some foreign/liberal vendetta against the country where the people are the most free. If he wants to stay a drone, let him. But stopping drones like this from spreading ignorant propaganda to other weak-minded individuals and coating those lies and misperceptions with cold, hard facts, couldn’t possibly hurt.

      Briga there's no need for another Arms Race, it would be a bad thing since there isn't any Soviet Union to collapse this time, only Russia herself so a lot of people would suffer because of it.

    This missile (single warhead 475 kilotons) is a baby compared to the LGM-118A. (Up to *TEN* 475 kilotons warhead packed into a single missle") But it's a monster compared to the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima (20 kilotons) The destructive power of these modern nuclear weapons is hard to even imagine

  • @pyrusrex2882

    Judging b the plume, that didn't take long to get out of the atmosphere. That missile just f*cks off. People always look at our Minutemen as simple simon missiles, but no Russian hypergolic can get out of the atmosphere that quickly. Speaks volumes to the initial thrust to weight ratio of solids. That thing would already be coasting towards Moscow before the Sarmat even finished burning the 2nd stage. F*ck the Bulava, the Trident II is superior in every way. I guess the Pinkos threw a shit fit about the Peacekeeper when we had those, they were absolute monsters.

      So, you're saying it should be allowed to every sovereign country to develop the nukes. right? , I mean every country has the right to prosper and develop....unless they have a bad government....i mean like government who would use a fear of nukes to invade other countries and killed their presidents in cold blood...like..like..hmmm what country does that...wait, wait i will remember the name...ah i just cant...but President Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein both innocent of what that country accused them for says HI from heaven, and their ppl cry for those times now. Saddam accused for wmd, no trace found but hey , Gaddafi free gas to the ppl , free apartments, free college from aboard , one word DREAM LAND , but one day he noticed that one country getting more from his country oil than Libya, let's trade in gold then he said and BANG he is dead like dog in a sewer now and the country of Libya is full of democracy now, no jobs, no money, civil wars but hey that is a price they must pay for Democracy...aaaah i still can't remember the name of that country with good ppl but bad, bad government who invaded and devastated more country than Hitler him self...some one says that they are next Nazi by the stats of innocent lives killed...no use...i jUSt cAn't remember....mehh fuck them... what ever, never mind

      Not particularly. Some countries, like North Korea, are trigger-heavy. They'd launch nukes "just because" and are unnecessarily escalating in virtually everything that they do. There is a reason why Russia and the USA haven't launched on each other. We do not have that confidence in North Korea and other nations, such as the Middle East.
