Kamelot supported Nightwish in 2012 in Denver when Anette was taken to hospital. Luckily both Elize Ryd & Alissa White-Gluz were also touring with Kamelot & they agreed to step on stage with Nightwish instead of Anette. People in Denver still talk about that night & the dedication Nightwish has for their fans as most, if not all other bands would have cancelled the show in that situation. Roy Khan is a great vocalists and there are many Kamelot fans that were disappointed when Tommy Karevik, also from Norway, took his place as the lead vocalist. It's like with Tarja being replaced with Anette that alienated many of their fans. However, Tommy is also a great vocalist & his co-operation with e.g. Alissa White-Gluz has produced some great songs & live performances.

Great performance! I had the chance to meet Tommy when Kamelot opened for Nightwish in 2012. Not only is he very handsome & tall, but he has ENORMOUS hands! 🙃 Elize & Alissa were in Kamelot, that night, and filled in for Annette Olzon in Nightwish.
I haven’t kept up with Kamelot in the last ten years or so, but they have some really great stuff back before that for sure. My favorite is probably the ballad A Sailorman’s Hymn. Roy Kahn here has a really fabulous voice, in a successor-to-Geoff-Tate kind of way. I like what he did with the crowd here.
