But I know for certain that I have to study lots of anatomy of faces, bodies, animals. The first step is anatomy for me then sculpting in ZBrush better (a whole lot of better and doing thousands of sculpts and characters) then learning the anatomy of clothing and building clothes. I think it’s also important to have fun along the journey. The process is different for everyone.

have you tried to reach out to Autodesk or Pixologic to ask them if they can give you a free copy for learning? sometimes they do that ! also check out 3d coat. the trial version is free forever which could help you start. Blender is also not bad to start but you definitely need to learn ZBrush.

Love the video but I have rarely ever seen studios hiring for junior-level artist. I usually only see senior-level or lead level. I would love to know what studio is hiring for junior level I need to apply.
Just start sculpting body parts and analyse everything bit by bit! Don't rush it and don't to become the best fast! just slowly and patiently study and check the muscle names and their function. you will be surprized how far you can go in a few years! remember when you practice, you will not see your progress! It will take months or years before you can really understand how much you improved.
Hello Siamak I'm an art student right now and struggling with choosing whether character art or environment art to focus on. Do you have any advice or experience to share?
What makes you happy? Which one do you enjoy more? Which one makes you forget about everything and just have fun while learning or working? Which one do you think you understand better or connect with better? You can answer these questions and then pick the one that fits these questions and answers.
Every studio has their own requirements and if you check their job description then you will find out how many years of experience you will need to have. I'm uploading a video about applying and it will be online tomorrow.
Very informative for anyone working in the 3D Industry as a whole

Music got half on the way of the talk.. hard to focus on your talk. but great content. keep it up
Sure. It's old and i was learning.
@@EdgeloopAcademy Thank you for reply. I mention that with good intention. After few comments on the low volume of my tutorials, I improved and got a proper mic. Sorry that I missed the fact it is old video - although content is golden and will last fresh for long time. Thank you for all what you do!
No don't be sorry at all. It's a good reminder for me to be careful overall. Thank you.
please can I ask you, would 3ds max be a replacement for Maya and is the Degree matter here, thank you for the nice Video
I never used max. You need to learn maya. You don't need a degree.
I wanted to ask if there is a free application for the computer so I can start training, I am only 14 years old but I already think about working as a character artist and thanks for the video :)
have you tried to reach out to Autodesk or Pixologic to ask them if they can give you a free copy for learning? sometimes they do that ! also check out 3d coat. the trial version is free forever which could help you start. Blender is also not bad to start but you definitely need to learn ZBrush.
@@EdgeloopAcademy
thank you very much i will try on the 3d coat if i progress i will try to buy the zbrush someday :) thank you so much your channel has everything to grow
hey great video! quick tip: you dont have to say "he or she" just say "they"
Yes thanks a lot haha. I noticed it after the video but it was too late lol great point .
Hi can you give some advise please. How much should a character designer be paid for if offered a job for a gaming company? I live in the UK.
UK jobs don't pay well but in the USA, the start is about 60 or 70k up to lead positions at 220k or around that depending on the company.
Love the video but I have rarely ever seen studios hiring for junior-level artist. I usually only see senior-level or lead level. I would love to know what studio is hiring for junior level I need to apply.
Search “ character artist jobs in ( city that you want) “ in google and you will see a lot of results.
What is a good starting point for people who want to start learning anatomy?
Just start sculpting body parts and analyse everything bit by bit! Don't rush it and don't to become the best fast! just slowly and patiently study and check the muscle names and their function. you will be surprized how far you can go in a few years! remember when you practice, you will not see your progress! It will take months or years before you can really understand how much you improved.
Hello Siamak
I'm an art student right now and struggling with choosing whether character art or environment art to focus on. Do you have any advice or experience to share?
What makes you happy? Which one do you enjoy more? Which one makes you forget about everything and just have fun while learning or working? Which one do you think you understand better or connect with better? You can answer these questions and then pick the one that fits these questions and answers.
Great tips thanks! But the music was really loud, personally I found it difficult to really understand you because of that
Sorry about that and I agree and I adjusted that after that. I might re upload this video again with less volume on music again.
Hello! I wanted to ask how much experience is required to apply for a job as a 3d character artist at a gaming studio?
Every studio has their own requirements and if you check their job description then you will find out how many years of experience you will need to have. I'm uploading a video about applying and it will be online tomorrow.
@@EdgeloopAcademy Thank You For Replying. I was really worried :)
