Man, I have to build me something from these guys, be it a tank, a truck, a plane a flippin' dining table, just something with the word MENG on the box! Great review - the camera angle is perfect, as is the lighting.
Thank you for the kind words ! I appreciate you stopping by. I would love to see you build a MENG pick up ! That would be awesome ! They have just released 2 new ones beside the ones I reviewed a few months ago. ua-cam.com/video/J4LkFRzxMSg/v-deo.html
Have this kit as well and love it. Your review is always first rate bud! Thanks for sharing. I have said it once before and I will say it again you do some of the BEST reviews...period.
Oh my ! I should add you to my fan list ! you are too kind Andy ! I made up my mind and will Turn mine into a Canuck variant ! it may not be 100% but I can live with it ! LOL.
Very comprehensive review Norm....I'm not a modern armor guy, but this Meng kit has me rethinking that...What an awesome looking kit. I may have to pick one up at the IPMS Nationals....that's coming up soon. Thanks Brother. Bill.
Since I started building Modern Armor... a few years back! I left behind the WWII stuff and I never looked back ! at one point in life... you might do the same ? just let it creep up on you... and Happy Modeling my friend ! You won't regret it !
You are Welcome Jim ! Both Chassis are very similar and are light-years ahead of the Old Italeri, Revell and Esci kits or even Heller kits. Yes they are not perfect but... a welcome addition to our collections...
Another in-depth review, that is greatly appreciated. Looks like a challanging kit, yet would be a fun build. I have not yet built a MENG kit, however your reviews, are moving these kits to the top of my future purchase list.
in all seriousness I think the hardest part looks like the Individual track links ! I am not always very successful with them ! I stopped building Dragon kits for that reason !
I could go BRONZE GREEN and live very happy !!! LOL I saw them both... during my service.... but before I cross you hand with Silver! I ought to know you a little better I think ! LOL
Another great review Norm . You help make it easy to pick what kits are good to buy especially for people like myself that live in a remote farming area in Tasmania Australia with the closest Hobby shop 300km away so most of my purchases are online and I think all have been reviewed by you. Thanks from Down Under :)
Superb review of the MENG Leo Norm. Definitely a kit to keep my eye out for! I second your frustration for Canadian markings and turret variant, LOL! Also, enjoyed the comparison between MENG and Takom, I think we all have come to expect greats things from MENG, but this only reinforces how detailed Takom is as well! Cheers!
Yeah... I can't wait to see what's next on their list !!! I will still go ahead and make mine into a Canadian C1 variant... with or without Mods... just to speed things up ! Only a "Purist" would know the differences ! They even put a German Leo1A4 as an Official Gate Guard on a Canadian Forces base near me... But they painted it as a Canadian one ! and not many people can tell unless they know their stuff... ! so the casual tourist or Civilian only see what they want us to see..... a Leo C1 ! LOL
Hahaha, good use of words my friend... "Purist." But hey at least you can model that one off of something you've seen in real life... That'll teach those "Purists" a thing or two!
I am still looking at that Legend set and I can't believe that turret basket... Hope they give us some resin forms or drawing to follow... as the shape is quite difficult to duplicate ! anyway... Thanks to you ! I'll have a C1. I had resolved myself to build it out of the box and call it Canadian... But since that video was made... Legend Productions gave us a nice gift ! Years ago we would of have to Cut out the entire Roof off the model ( an Italeri / Revell kit back then ) and replace it with the "Maple Leaf" Resin conversion set... and that on its own was major surgery ! the nice thing about the Maple Leaf set was the IR bird cage that came with it was one piece all metal ! very advance for the time.... Long out of productions thou!
SchweinHund227 Right back at you! Thanks to your videos I’ve avoided a few potential boo boos! No sense in stepping on each other? Although we build similar things, I’ll try and add a twist or go a different route with it.
Good review, I've toyed with the idea of building a Leopard tank. I got one years ago at a chapter meet sell-off, I can't remember who made the kit or what became of it. It could have been Revell of Germany or Esci that produced it, I do remember a guy in the club constantly say "that's a target, that's a target, why did you pick a target? You don't like airplanes?!" Some people. (-_-)
ok ? Not sure what your friend meant by that... Does he think, A/C are not Targets when viewed from a ground to air missile battery or another A/C Hud ? Thanks for your comment ! All kits are great ! as long as we all get along ! LOL... no need for arguments like that... are you still attending that Club ? Welcome here and Keep up the good work ! I build what I like and Hope ppl like what I build ? LOL easy going !
Hey Norm great review there bud and also a very good comparison on the upper and lower hulls not much in the detail at all these do look like nice kits thanks for the reviews they were a pleasure to watch :)
Excellent review Norm! I have recently been bitten by the armor bug and have been slowly adding kits to my inventory. This may be one to acquire. MENG has done a nice job on this kit. Looking forward to your next review.
oh ! I will be treating you well my friend !!! something really Juicy is coming my way ! I can't wait to review it !!! Take care and Happy modeling ! Remember don't break the bank !
Great review and very useful for any LEOPARD tank fan! Thank you for sharing it! Just to mention that I can provide plenty of photos to you or to anyone that might wish to build the Hellenic Army version.
Norm Lajoie haha you never know :) i always found the path back to the good old wehrmacht, but modern bundeswehr vehicles are extremely tempting because you can actually see them from time to time.
Thank you Mark !!! I live near a Hobby Shop in my town and don't go inside it due to High prices... I buy all my Modeling stuff on line ! Glad I can Help you make up your mind on some of those kits... Both the TAKOM's kits and Meng's Kits are very nice in deed ! Thank you for your continued support ! It is most appreciated !
badgrendels Health wise ? will see in 2 weeks ! I was wondering about the contest results... and see if you placed or not ! with all that work on the Tie... I hope you do well ! all the best! is the House progressing ?
Norm Lajoie They are doing the roof this week and the HVAC. It is now at the slow part. All of the interior work. I will put up a video on it this weekend.

Great review! Have you built that kit?
Not yet! Too many kits, no enough time. Still it is a Meng kit. Should be fun

Great review. It is a shame they didn’t add a Canadian option. That’s okay, I’ll take care of that! 😉

Norm Lajoie It's a joke among aviation modelers, anything that does not fly is a target: AFVs, cars, ships, ect.
Oh ! I get it !!! Maybe we can say they are all Blips on our Radars! LOL Take care Max.
Norm Lajoie Cheers! ^_^
