No, he actually did the drumming in ZZ Top song and this one, you can hear the difference in sound from his previous covers. Also, I've seen a video of his hands bleeding from the drumming, as it has been years since he did any serious drumming and he's out of practice (he used to be a drummer in a band). This is an amazing cover, always loved the original and Tommy upgraded it as he always does. Loved all the nods to the movie in the video too. Thanks for your reaction
Hello, I'm Luiza from Brazil 🇧🇷, and I'll be very clear, there's a guy who's being stubborn and saying that Tommy isn't playing the drums 🥁. People need to stop being lazy.and go to the video description to be absolutely sure what Tommy did. He doesn't deceive his fans and the drums 🥁 are not digital. Everything he does he leaves in the description. Stubborn people.🤦
Actually your right , he has listed Drums and Tommy J , and does not list a drum machine. maybe he has 2 different drum beats over the top of each other and that is what makes it sound digitalized ? The original song is by Limahl. This was my all-time favorite movie as a kid. Without consulting google, do you know the name Sebastian gave to the child-like princess? :)
MoonChild , took me a bit though lol , i remember most of their names, however because she is called the child like princess pretty much the whole movie it made it harder to recall lol
This brings back so many memories of my sons watching this movie a lot. They're all adults and on their own but watching this cover makes it feel like it was yesterday! Tommy is just amazing! Thank you for your great reaction!
it was the best movie at the time , i did not like number 2 and apparently there is a number 3 but i have not seen that one , my fave charater was rock bitter he was soo sweet
I’m pretty sure the drums in the song are generated. If it was Tommy drumming it would be a lot more microphones on the kit. But he’s clearly know how to play drums.
Not if he recorded the video separately from the sound recording. Saw the video with his hands in blisters, as it was years since he did any serious drumming and he's out of practice. It also means he probably did't recorded in 1 take as the video. In his other videos where the drums ARE generated he writes which program in the description (usually Fredman Digital), as he did in Ghostbusters
@ since the drumkit’s set permanently in the studio you don’t remove the mics from their settings. And of course, the song is prerecorded and the playing, and even the singing is mimed.
@@swedishgooner6339 check out his Fanvault and see the video I'm talking about yourself. From what I can see, there are more mics out of camera reach. Also, I don't know if Tommy uses some of his own equipment or the one in the studio. He rents it with some other musicians. I'm not a musician, but I know how Tommy works, when he uses digital drums, he puts it in the description. Also, I believe he wouldn't got blisters just from recording the video. Anyway, it's a great song and he obviously knows how to drum as he did it before 😃
@@marinamucic908 Thanks for the clarification! I understand the video and the sound recording weren't done simultaneously. My main curiosity was about whether the beat was generated, considering Tommy's skills as a multi-instrumentalist and knowing drummers like Gee Anzalone who drums at 240 bpm. I appreciate your explanation about Fredman Digital, even though I didn't notice that mention myself. Your insights really help!
