Yes - I know about side drift, hence my comment. Slower descent rate in windy conditions would mean correspondingly faster horizontal speed for side impact collision with buildings, trees, power lines etc. But on balance I think I'd go for the slower descent rate anyway.

all paragliding rescues have side drift, the round parachutes drift sideways, this is how they achieve the EN regulated descent rate

yes, they say it's between 1 and 2km/h. So I guess in worst case scenario add that to the valley wind or ground speed. People are just sceptical because if it's amazing test results. the truth is, it is amazing, it just doesn't help that the para-market is so full of BS*. I broke my back on a Sol round, due to oscillation. The Evo Cross has no oscillation, that's pretty cool.

Let's see what happens when deployed in windy conditions. Horizontal speed on arrival could be a problem?

Newbie question: Is this type the one where you pull the handle & throw it away with the bag....or hang on to the deployment handle? - Or....how do you deploy this reserve correctly?

Throw and let go. Throw hard into clear air.
