Taking A Photo Of A Nebula In The Night Sky.

- Hi everybody,
This is my first attempt at documenting a night of astrophotography. It was very challenging to say the least with 97 degree days and 80 degree nights bordering on 100% humidity.
I lost a lot of data this past weekend only ending up with just under 2 1/2 hours of total exposure. I'm not mad to get clear enough sky's for 3 nights of imaging in a row I will take it.

That's a cool looking picture Matt. Thanks for the rundown.
#15th like 👍 great video and final image ☺
Thank you.
Excellent shot, Matt!
Thank you Chuck!
Looks great...both the video and picture!
Thank you.
Nice run through and great image!
Thank you.
Matt, great stuff. I am using a GSO 8" imaging newt. F3.9 Could you share with us the coma corrector you are using. Your stars at the edges look great!
Thanks, I'm using the Explore Scientific coma corrector.
You just made my life easier! I had never thought about using PointCraft to center my objects when I go to image. Even after plate solving at the beginning, my object would be a little off center if it was across the sky from my initial plate solve. I would just use the arrow keys and take several short exposures to center it. Now I can use PC to do it. Learn something new every day! LOL
And that was a great capture of the Dumbbell! I have the same problems with haze where I'm at, so I understand how it can affect your guiding. There are nights when the best total Dec/RA are over .60, but I still have a great night, regardless.
@@dgoddard Glad I could help! Point craft is great. Also when I do multiple nights I just load a frame from the previous night solve it then let point craft do its thing.
Okay, now you're just showing off. ;-)
