Goats live a while. Around 15-18 years. For how long they can produce milk depends on how often you freshen them. Nigerian dwarfs produce milk for around two years after their first freshening.
Maybe give them a treat so they will come out and let you see their muck butts 🤣 Champ's a Night Rider lol! This is such a timely video. We are breeding some of ours now too. Lots of old school hog farmer's grew Mulberry Trees over their pig pens per my grandmother.
I really do appreciate your videos on the goat I've never learned so much about goat until I started watching your vlog. Everett's is my favorite buck he so beautiful love his color. Girls goat are so beautiful and healthy looking. Love love your blogs I wish you had more a week. But understandable you're busy🤩🤩🤩🐐🐐🐐🐐
I am so glad you posted today. I have been struggling (mentally) all morning and when I saw your notification I was so excited to see what’s been going on at your ranch. It made me so happy to see all the goats and your sweet piggies. Derricks goat jokes crack me up. And your kids are just so precious. So thank you for sharing and helping this old lady have a better day!!!
The kids have grown up so much..looking at your video intro they were so little. It’s fun to see them turning into young adults. Watching the goats grow and the kids grow.
I’m so happy that you addressed this topic because for the life of me I can’t understand why my does beg to go back in with the buck after they were bred the week before? I watch to make sure they are bred and they all hunch after so I just don’t get it.
Not only is your commentary full of interesting knowledge, you throw some comedy in there as well! I appreciate how well you know your animals, how well you and your family work together to take care of y'all's homestead and you share the good and the bad! Y'all are a great bunch of people!!
Cannot wait for you to start selling your soaps!!! Sooo stinkin excited!!! I know it’s gonna be great for my dry diabetic skin😞😞😞 Also, getting ready for babies!!!😊😊😊😊
This year is my first time breeding, and my oldest doe is hard to tell when she's in heat. She's very quiet about it. So I was going to let her in with the buck early just so she could get used to him. To my surprise, she was in standing heat. 😂
lol as a child many moons ago living in Albuquerque NM, a man who had swam all the famous rivers in the world came to swim the Rio Grande. It had no water so he had to walk across the dry bed. We camped on the Peco. the water was so cold you could not wade in it. Now in the South we get lots of rain.
Sooo excited! Baby time a comin....yippee!!! And can’t wait for your new soap. Been buying hand made soap at shows for 20 years. But never goat soap. And baby piggies pretty soon......gonna b a great fall and winter watching Blue Cactus ❤️
Great vlog! Learning more about goat breeding, gardening in a different climate, goat soaps I'm looking forward to try... The pigs are a nice addition to the farm, it'll be interesting to learn about them and their personalities, as we are about the goats. Dry, itchy, sensitive skin makes it necessary to find soap that helps nourish skin. I'm looking forward to trying yours! The best parts were with your human kids also in the garden, being a part of your endeavors... and the getaway to water... Thank you for sharing your lives with your viewers!
I raised meat goats for a long time before becoming entranced with an Alpine. Then, I got a couple of Toggenbergs; all just for family dairying and having milk on hand for orphans or rejected kids. Through a series of events, we had to move into a neighborhood. I sold my herd, but kept one doe in milk along with a companion doeling. Now, I've had to give her up too. I miss my goats so much and these videos make me so happy. Whenever I was down, my daughter said, "Let's go look at the goats." Yup. That always did it for me. One thing I must say and wonder about. I watched one video from spring kidding where the kid was upside down. I've gone in and rearranged kids for birthing, but you do it so easily! I found that the physical strength needed to do the job was a lot more than expected. Maybe it's because you are a young woman that it seemed so effortless for you. Great job. Keep 'em comin'!
To help with the animal eating your garden problem maybe consider building a greenhouse or at least a heavy duty mesh protection around it and a drip watering system. Helps reduce your workload and protect your plants. So excited for those babies!! Personally excited for legend, champ, and lucky babies!!!
All your hard work experimenting with the soap recipes have finally paid off! Well done crystal!!! Can’t wait for all these baby 🐐 but great to see what you’ll be doing in the meantime x
Love you all videos and your content. Listening to you today while I trim my herb garden. Massive lemongrass have got to be trimmed back and the leaves need to start getting hydrated in the oven for tea
Tip for green beans. They typically will not set pods when temps are over 85. I have had super good luck this year with my fall green beans. I am in Southeast Texas.
So glad to see your video today on a cold rainy day in Maryland made my day a little brighter. Can hardly wait to see all the new babies that are going to be coming you will sure be real busy. Love watch the kids having fun in the water Hope you all have a great quiet week Love you guys❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh WOW!!!! You are about to hit 50,000 subscribers!!!!!!😉🐐 Let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Your channel is definitely my favorite and I look forward to seeing you continue to grow!!!! Best Wishes and again CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
We have a goat farm in northern az we do the same. Soaps and cheeses I've ben watching your video's to help me in my journey of cheese making. Your very informative. Very awesome. Thank you !!!!!!!
Feels great when a product you make really helps someone with a skin issue or something that’s a huge problem for them doesn’t it! The big one for me was my lip balm recipe which stopped my neighbour’s chronic split lip that always bled and hurt her so much. It was so great to take away that pain for her! Dad loved my lip balm when he was having chemo too, he had hem stashed everywhere. I made him a super nourishing soap and a body butter to help when his skin was peeling off in sheets too. Damn chemo was harsh on him. Anyway. Glad you’ve settled on your soap recipe. Now you can have fun with different scents etc!
Love the videos. I watch weed 'em & reap too. Great to see one of their animals at another farm. OAN: This is how many times she said "really, really". Lol | V
Really nice video! I feel like we've caught up on business & now it's time for fun! Beautiful river -- there's nothing like swimming for rest & relaxation. Good job on all the garden projects. Praying for some weeks of rain. We need it in San Diego. The ground is too dry.
I have found that the local water is crucial in soap making and using. My well water here is so hard you could chip your tooth on it! I have soaps that work great in other water systems and barely lather here. Chemistry is befuddling here in the desert. Bravo on your efforts.
I am a bio major and have been breeding marigolds since i was about 16. I am about to plant my 3rd generation this winter and am so excited. I would love to send you guys some seeds for your garden when this generation goes to seed. They are my absolute pride and joy and id love to share. They are red gem marigolds(a type of signet marigold) too so they dont look like the standard ones you often see. I personally really like the deep red
Soap makes great Christmas gifts for the extended family!!!!! Derek, don't think that mule was too impressed with your impressions!!!😂 My grandmother would warn y'all not to swim with a cut of scratch on you during " The Dog Days of summer ". To her the dog days lasted until frost!!!!! 😂
Omg, dreamer, Little bit, Maybelline, Cami, Elsa, and May are my favorite does!! Hoping to get a kid out of them next year 💕 You are a role model, we are droolin on your beauties 😍
Oh my! The bucks become new creatures during breeding! 😹 Festus is hilarious. Love that waterhole!! I learned how to swim in a spring fed creek when I was 5.
Pretty mule...at least I think that was a mule. I love donkeys! My favorite part of them is their big, beautiful ears, and they have gorgeous eyes. ❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐎🐐

I feel for your garden struggle, mines a tiny garden but it went to poop! Cause too much heat no 🌧 but no where near your state struggles, your soaps sound amazing...
Just found your channel and l am in love with the content, l am over here in Africa but so many of your ideas work for me. We too are soon moving to our farm house. I just had to subscribe.
Haha I don’t know what was funnier. You explaining how Champ likes to breed/the fact that all his girls were done basically the same time, or when your kids came running in. Stay awesome. ❤️
Thanks for another great video!! I put three does in our buck pen and haven't seen anything yet other than them pushing him away lol! but I know he works because our other doe snuck into his pen and was bread in August 😂 Congrats on the soap!! I am about to try making some! ~jc
Good move putting Schillie with Merle. She is a champion and he is out of a champion. Hopefully she gives you champion does! Wondering what Lodi’s udder will look like since both her grandmas are big milkers with large teats
Enjoyed the breeding lesson. But the kids playing in the water was the best! With the virus this summer most public pools were closed in KC where I was with my children and grandchildren and we had our season tickets to oceans of fun. It never opened. So sad. So I’m a bit jealous.
Crystal, it has been a few years since we have bred goats. We bought a Buck last Friday and he has been in with one of our does (the other 2 are too young yet). I’m hoping that means she was bred.
“Girl you have to wait till this evening!” That had me cracking up. Champ is an odd boy but he gets the job done. 😂😂😂
Oops, 😊😊😊
Also how old do the goats live .also how many years can they produce milk

This is such a timely video. We are breeding some of ours now too.

Not that I want to watch them breeding, but the bucks make laugh, I love watching them.
