Cheers buddy, turning it over worked a treat!
Great stuff.
Flip the washer around. That worked! This saves so much hassle and cost. Thanks!
You're welcome!
My toilet isn't leaking anymore! One less chance for the virus to spread now I don't have to get someone in. This video may literally have saved my life or the life of another. Thank you!
That`s great Alex.
Thank you sir! You saved me a plumber bill! Simply just turn the washer upside down and instantly fixed the water leaks. Salute from down under.
Excellent!
I've been putting this off for a year... It took me five minutes after watching this. Excellent as usual sir.
Great to hear!
Thank you so very much. 60 plus years young lady just fixed my leaky loo in 5 mins, you are a STAR
Well done Hazel.
Thank you sir. Knocked the seal yesterday when cleaning all the old blue loo tablets out. Was leaking into the pan. Brilliant advice, and saved me a visit to B&Q.
Thank you 👍
No problem Gary.
Great video. I found the remains of one of those blue toilet blocks had got caught under the valve, but I wouldn’t have known where to look without this. Many thanks.
No problem.
Great explanation, flipped the rubber washer seal over and appeared to fix it, however checked on it the next day and was leaking again so had to replace the washer with new one, so keep in mind if you just flip the washer it may only be good for a very short term temporary fix until you get to the store to get a replacement washer.
Nice work!
Thank you. I turned the rubber seal around as you suggested and it worked. I’ve been trying to fix this for weeks and I’m on a water meter. Great video 😊
No problem.
I followed the tip of turning the seal round at the bottom and guess what! It worked and saved me a call out. Thank you.
Glad it helped!
Had this problem for a few days. After watching your video I got straight on to it. I turned over the washer and put everything back, all sorted now. Thanks very much.
No problem.
Feeling all pleased with myself, placed a fresh bit of toilet roll at the back of the bowl and looking good so far, I think I’ve fixed my leak, thank you so much for your guidance…
Great job!
Thanks. Had to flip the seal, as you suggested, to stop the leak. All sorted now! Cheers 👍🏻
Excellent!
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing these simple tips both explaining how the cistern works but how to fix a worn washer seal. You have saved us a hefty bill. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
I'm the worst at repairs. I've been scratching my head on this one for a little while, but 6:36 was all I needed :) Thanks!
No problem!
Thank you for this video. Our toilet was leaking into the cistern, and after watching your video I found it was the seal at the bottom. Ours had limescale deposits on it but was otherwise in good order, so after a quick clean it's back in the toilet and working perfectly. Thank you.
No problem Chris.
Thank you was expecting to take the cistern off the wall etc then saw your video so just unclipped the syphon and replaced with the new one and bobs your uncle! Saved me a lot of time and effort thanks again 👍👍
Nice work!
Can't believe that it was that easy! The toilet dripping has been driving me nuts and costing me about £15 a month...early days but seems to have done the trick thank you!
No problem Rich.

Oh my goodness yes!! Really needed this as well. This guy explained very well 😊
I juts watched this last evening after discovering the same problem with my toilet bowl. Flipping the rubber seal worked! Thank you!
Thanks. This video showed me how to remove the top half of the flush valve to reveal the washer which was covered in limescale. A quick clean and it appears to have stopped my leak.
If only I'd seen this before replacing the fill valve... Never mind. :)
Pleased you sorted ok anyway.
Thanks your video gave me the confidence to tackle the job exactly as described 👍
Excellent!
I live in the States and I have NEVER seen a Flush Valve like that. What you guys call a Siphon, I live in California and that is a new one for me. But that dual flush valve is pretty common over here.

😃 amazing, i have now learnt how to fix a toilet.
That`s great.
Chears mate. Ive 2 of the bloody push button toilets leaking.... turns out the washer was all crudded up with limescale ( the water is so hard around here you need a chisel to make a cuppa tea!)
Ha ha yes sounds like you live in the south east.
Give the silicone washer a good scrub with some soap.. In my case, it's the algae on the washer causing it to be slimey that allowed the water to leak to the basin.
Thanks for the tip.
Thank you very much for this video, helped me to fix my toilet that was leaking back into the pan!
No problem.
dereton33 now I need to work out why the toilet cistern isn’t filling as much as I’d like even though the float is at full height
Should be an adjustment screw on it.
dereton33 there is but it’s at full adjustment
Thanks for the video it help me 100%
No problem 👍
My toilet is the exact same as this toilet and I’m having problems with the water pump running water when it’s not in use. Can you help?
Either the ball valve is letting by or the syphon is broken and needs renewing

It's my pleasure
Turns out those toilet blue discs with the soluble outer film aren't quite as soluble as they say. The outer film was wrapped around the seal plate at the bottom. 2 minute fix thanks to this direction.
No problem.
Performs well. Very pleased
Great.
Thanks for this video.Very useful.
You are welcome
mine leaks, do yo think that could be causing the waterhammer on my torbeck float valve that has started over the last few months?
It more than. Likely is.
Do i have to turn the water of before turning the rubber seal over? Great video by the way
Yes you do
I wish you could come over and fix
So do I.
What if it leaks from the outside of the cistern and the leak is from the plastic tube inside and isa lever
The valve needs fixing.
Hi I tried this turned the washer around but it’s not working what else can I try
Thanks so much
Get your self a new washer, they are very cheap.
Legend. Thank you mate.
No problem 👍
Why won’t my flusher come out? I can’t twist it out?
You have one of the older rare fixed models .
if the water exceeds the other pipe will it go out also because i think thats a problem also
Yes
Thanks that is great help
No problem.
I'm a bit confused about the video and I'm wondering if you could help.
I have a toilet that has two buttons on it, and today I decided to push both buttons at once. It flushed normally, but after the flush water kept coming out.
I opened the toilet lid and noticed that the problem/solution was:
If I pull the float up, the water stops coming out (I don't have the ball mechanism, I have the plunger type that comes up when water fills the tank), but if I lower it, the water comes out. I've also noticed that:
When lowering the float, I notice that the water bubbles where the pipe goes into the bottom of the tank,
When I lower the float the water doesn't refill the tank, instead what I believe is that when the float lowers, the tank refills the water, but some sort of seal is broken, so it just comes out.
I've also noticed this if I attempt to fill the tank myself, the water comes out again before stopping, possibly suggesting there's a leak somewhere above where the water sits.
Lastly, no matter if the float is up or not, the flush buttons don't work at all.
Is there any way to fix this?
Best to fit a new syphon.
Hiya mate I've got the same set up as that cistern....a very slight trickle on mine causes phantom flushes periodically. I tried turning the washer which didn't cure it so bought a replacement and that didn't....what else would it be? Cheers
The ball valve.
My ball lifts but it doesn't stop the water from filling up the cistern
Hi tried the turnover trick and still slight drip so went and got a new washer and still no luck shall i buy a new siphon or can you think it could be anything else. Thanks
Check the ballcock is not letting by, if it is ok, then a new syphon.
Sorry, unable hear you properly. The sound goes up & down. However, I got the gist of how to fix the problem. Thank you.
Sorry about that.
Do you know how to repair if the water in the bowl (not tank) is too low? Which of those parts in the tank are responsible? Thanks.
The ball valve just needs adjusting.
