nice video but I dont solder back on the 2 pins or the 4 pins on the slider because you may get solder between the pins. I just make sure the 2 holding pins are secured onto that little PC board
Just use less solder. You definitely do want to solder the pins, as otherwise you'll wind up with an intermittent connection. Don't want that while spinning a set live.

Yes I have seen one on the power circuit, I'm in the process of restoring a djm400 myself they are wonderful mixers!
