Natasha is a pure soul. Such a sweet person with a wealth of education behind her regarding nutrition and sport science. She’s so down to earth and lovely.
She actually didn't say she was "manipulating macros for weight loss", she said she was eating even more food due to more training. I thought it was important to note that, I think its more about properly fueling herself for performance purposes. She's a great role model!
I think she was referring to natachas fat loss videos with that sentence, not the marathon one. :) either way, I agree with you. totally fine to have athletic and physical goals and eat accordingly, as long as they aren't harmful.
I love that Natacha mentions she and Mario don't cook like that every day - that when they're not filming meal ideas, it's a lot faster and simpler. And sometimes dinner is a cheeky Nandos(!) I love them both to bits. They've done me so much good.
My main takeaway from this video: Would LOVE to see a pantry organization video. Julien Solomita did one a couple years ago in a vlog-type format and I just live for that kind of stuff.
Natacha comes across as such a wonderful person! 😊 She creates incredibly accessible science explained vids and her food is so aesthetically pleasing . I watch her content and it always makes me smile 😊
I’m so excited to see more people joining the ultra community! 100 miles is no fun challenge if you’re eating “intuitively” because I promise everyone that tries ends up horribly bonking😂 You gotta track and stay ahead of the calorie/hydration/electrolyte loss, at least during long training runs and the ultra itself. These foods look so yummy❤
Courtney Dauwalter does everything intuitively, eating, training etc. It can be done, but you have to actually allow yourself to eat enough. I think many people “intuitively” eat too little.
@@laurenelizabeth2505 I found an old interview article with Marylin Monroe where she talked about what she ate to get movie-star ready (or maybe is was a more recent article that quoted her interview). Anyway is was wild stuff. I remember it was like a tall glass of milk, steak, maybe ice cream, not much else. Of course it's all just what they say in an interview, but it was interesting to see what was considered ideal back in the day.
@AbbeysKitchen I would love to see a video from you about Liz Seibert here on UA-cam. It's kind of a mixed bag where it's very heartwarming to hear her personal experience with recovering from ED and depression. However she has a 'nutritionist' who seems to have recommended her a highly specialized diet of various organ meat, eggs, grass fed butter and limited vegetables. Her latest video on her diet is titled "non-restrictive!" yet to my untrained eye seems incredibly restrictive. On the one hand I am happy she says it's working for her. On the other hand she is a model with half a million followers promoting a diet that does not seem science based (albeit at the direction of someone else). This needs the Abbey breakdown!
I think the principles of intuitive eating are so lovely... but if all you're wanting to eat is carbs or protein... it's really hard to continue to feel healthy... and that's a really common thing I'm finding. (I have ADHD and know a lot of women with it or autism, and food aversion is big. ARFID is a huge struggle & it can be combined with BED or other EDs.) For me, it's biggest help has been allowing myself to stop eating when I'm full, even if there is food left on the plate & acknowledging that meals don't have to look a certain way. Hearing my dietitian repeat, "Fed is best." has been such a game changer. That breakfast can absolutely be a chicken quesadilla and dinner can absolutely be an egg white omelet. That "tasting boards" are as acceptable for my toddler niece who likes to eat with her fingers as they are for me, who also likes to eat with her fingers. That some days a protein shake is all my body can handle, and that's okay. That other days, I can make myself 3 meals a day & a snack with ease... and that's okay too.
My Brazilian and Portuguese mom, who’s not a coffee drinker, would always eat a couple of prunes before bed. We weren’t allowed to eat them, so of course we did and didn’t tell her or dad. We (my sister and I) had the worst case of the runs but we kept our secret 🤐 until a couple of years ago 😂
What I like about Natasha is that she never calls other people out or starts things with other influencers. She minds her own business and doesn’t need to dump on popular channels to keep her own up. Abbey should take notes.
Love Natacha! Please do one on Saffron Barker, she’s a British UA-camr who is also a ‘Gymshark Athlete’. I would love to see your thoughts on her as she has a huge following of very young, impressionable women.
Such a great video! Loved watching it, I was quite disappointed when I realized I had already reached the end. I train similarly to Natacha, though I focus much more on running in general, and her diet is a nice source for inspiration.
I appreciate the knowledge that you share, but your delivery feels shaming. I am also in recovery from an ED, and feel anger toward systems of power that perpetuate diet culture, but when I view your content, I often feel that the anger that I imagine we share is being misdirected to the individuals whose diets you critique.
totally agree, i really like Abbey's vibeos for all the info and perspective she gives us but lately (especially when she does videos where she eats like other people) she sounds like a mean girl trying to sound nice
Personally I have really enjoyed the last couple months worth of videos from Abby. They seem happier and funner to me. And I didn't read any shame to Natacha in this video. But I'm also in the same phase of life as Abbey because I'm a mom with two young kids. So a lot of her comments about her lifestyle with her kids really resonate with me. But I can see how to someone else when she says "I don't have time to do this because of my kids", it could read as "my way of life is better so I'm not going to do that. "
@@audreybringgold6217agree. I feel like these are actually way toned down from the reviews she used to do. I actually had unfollowed her for a while because I couldn’t stand the rudeness but she’s gotten better imo
Just a little freaky clarification, on a recent Q&A Natacha said she doesn't depend on the coffee to poo but to accelerate the process in case she have to go somewhere in the morning 🙂
It’s sooo hard to find soy milk around me that isn’t sweetened, even the plain original ones…ugh. I usually have to order it online if I want unsweetened
I was confused by that too. Soymilk is definitely not naturally sweet. If it tastes sweet, some type of sweetner was added. Maybe they don't sell unsweetened soy in her area?
11:22 That looked like the smallest amount of salad dressing like how 😂 I've been trying to cut back but I still need a tablespoon or two depending on the size of the salad. Tossing it helps me coat it.
Lol, as always love your videos and the info you provide, the pantry raid,...epic. some nights my dinner looks like this, ...yes, a can of black beans, some left over chicken, a bit of lettuce that needs a little pruning, etc. And dessert, well that's another story, but Mae is usually involved.
Hey Abbey! Love your videos and it would be really awesome if you did a video about how you were eating during your pregnancy :) I believe many moms-to-be suffer from everyone trying to tell them how or what to eat, so it would be great to hear about it from a professional! Thank you😊
I'm confused, earlier I heard you say so often: don't drink coffee to get energized, eat instead! And now you say you drink your first coffee bc of this
If you crack the eggs into a bowl of half water and half vinegar and let a film form around the whites, you can then poach multiple eggs at once without swirling.
Hi Abbey! You may have already mentioned this before but I wonder why you opt for avocado over other (e.g. olive) oils? I use extra virgin olive oil quite a lot for salads and for cooking (my partner is Italian so it's not really an option lol) but just wondered if there were any health benefits to switching to avocado oil. Although avocado oil is quite expensive here in the UK so if the health benefits are negligent, I might stick to olive oil! 😂

Personally I love juice but I’m pretty picky. I usually like a really high quality anti inflammatory juice because I deal with chronic pain and other chronic health conditions. Bolthouse Farms has a really good carrot ginger turmeric juice. It’s also lower in sugar for people who have blood sugar issues, such as myself. I do allow myself to have higher sugar juices, like orange or cherry juice, occasionally but I’ve got to be mindful about it. I also enjoy making juice at home as well💯🥕🥒🍊🍋
Same! I stopped drinking juice because it always coated my mouth and throat and made me nauseous. My sister got me to try organic juice not from concentrate and no issues or nausea. I've found some great blends I really enjoy, too. And I find it helps with my sweet tooth-- I'm not constantly looking for cookies or chocolate if I have a glass of juice. I try and buy a bottle fairly regularly.
