  • wow the legend from the good old days in mint condition, original probes and all just works perfectly :-) tested bw to 130MHz, also see how well the delay line works 1uS pulse 100kHz signal, i also demo the rise time and dual timebase modes. the mother of all cool scopes is 40 years old, and still performs and work this well, the crown on top of all scope collections.

I use auto generated subs, I go through them myself, but i am far from perfect at finding all errors, so if you find errors worth fixing, please comment (or PM) with the TIME in the video you saw the error, i will be happy to fix it. This also applies to the Danish version.

Thank you for the guided tour through your TEK-465. I was blessed to acquire the same scope last week. Circa 1974. In pristine condition. With all accessories including the OEM Scope-Mobile. I haven't used a scope in >40 years. A lot of fun playing with it.

Nice! Out of curiosity, what work and equipment testing do you put yours through?

@@noname-style first of all I like to collect vintage electronics, mostly from 70-80 years. Besides that I do fix radio ham stuff. My oscilloscope is right on spec till today I never needed to put it under test.....if tomorrow it will fail I have Tektronix manual.....

Amazing that it works so well. It doesn't look like it's been serviced at all. Usually they need new filter caps or the HV multiplier has gone bad.

I just picked one of these up, it was so well taken care of, I opened the case and was shocked that the unit had ZERO dust on any surface inside at all, everything was just perfect aside from a need for calibration. last cal sticker on it says 1978. lol.

Is the CRT green or blue ? and are you going to do a video recapping and alignment ? I bought a mint 465m last year but no probes...spewing about that. I wonder how my 465m compares to the 465 and 465B, all I know is that the M is for Military and its hasn't a fan.
    Cheers.

Used a 465B in school, absolutely love these older scopes. I was fortunate enough to find a 475A DM44 at a hamfest a year ago with selectable 1X10 probes and manuals for $25.00! All it needed was a cleaning and a bench test to confirm it was within spec.

Still a super scope today, but very deep for most people's desktop

    No L.ED.s incandescent lights,
Great TV scope, time delay multiplier, TEK 465.
    Good vid.

I have a new to me 466. Sane but has primitive memory. It has the best triggering I have ever seen. I am in live with it and it will be my goto scope.

    18:37 ... LoL ...
    Anyway, I'm looking to buy a scope and I saw a 475 200MHz.
Two of my friends had their New Rigol and MPComp (Rebranded Uni-T) fail, they wore fixed in warranty by reflashing the firmware...
I'm pretty sure their scopes will end up in the bin after 1-2 years when they will be out of warranty.
Since everything nowadays is unreliable and build with planned obsolescence in mind I'm really thinking about buying this antique... fucking 50+ year old scope...
If it lasted this long, I guess it's reliable...
I'll just need to get a box of spare parts for it and I guess I'm set for life in terms of viewing a constant signal.

it all depends on how much between: cheap - hobby - pro, you want to be, how often do you need a scope, what type of measurements do you need to perform, most of the stuff i do at work, i could easy solve it using 1-2 channels, 1 to 10MHz, we also use rigol ds1054z it is a very good scope for its rather low price, it target the more advanced hobby person, to light pro use, i was very happy about my own rigol, but of course i am a lot more happy about my Siglent SDS2204X pro it is upgraded to 500MHz and all other features too.
