Perseus was a dominian that had a dominian family that gave him minimal care, only bothering enough to name him. The parents then die to loansharks due to excessive debt on gambling. Perseus is then adopted by an abusive nusian family (with only his adoptive sister caring for him). This turned Perseus into the racist dominian we know. However, this shifted when he met a little nusian girl named Valeria, who lost her father in the invasion. He cared for her for a short while before being deployed again.
*In a nutshell:* -Perseus rescues a young Nusian girl named Valeria and takes her under his wing. -Valeria begins to see Perseus as her new father, since her original parents were killed during the war. -Perseus eventually has to leave Valeria in order to return to duty, and he gets killed in action while he is gone. -Having lost her father for the second time, Valeria defects against the Nusians in order to avenge Perseus' death.
That's the complete opposite of what happened. Valeria didn't turn against Perseus; Perseus was KIA by Fortress Garrison, so Valeria defected against the Nusians in order to avenge Perseus' death
