DIY 4 Wheeler Diaper Cake Detailed How To With Trailer

This is a very detailed video on how to make a 4 wheeler diaper cake with an attached trailer for extra goodies. This gift was a big hit with everyone at the baby shower. They even showcased it on a table for everyone to look at. I highly recommend making this for any parents to be!
ITEMS I USED
Dishwasher basket
Sippy Cup With Handles
2 Paper Towel Holders
4 Booties
2 Bibs
80 Diapers
Rubber Bands
Jumbo Paper Clips
Burlap Bow
Wooden Letter For Baby’s Name
Phone Toy
Ribbon
Jute Cord
4 Receiving Blankets
Stuffed Animal
Basket
Giant Gift Bag
Foam Board
Scissors
Tape
4 Flowers
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make 4 diaper wheels.
2. Roll up 3 diapers to put in to each paper towel holder for the axel.
3. Wrap ribbon around diaper wheels to cover up rubber bands.
4. Insert paper towel holders into diaper wheels and tie with jute cord to hold everything together.
5. Fold 1 receiving blanket to fit around axel and dishwasher basket.
6. Fold and tape 1 receiving blanket into handle bars.
7. Place handle bars on top of the paper towel holder, put the dishwasher basket on top of that, then finish wrapping the 1st receiving blanket around the paper towel holders and dishwasher basket. Paper clip the blanket into place.
8. Take sippy and place on top of receiving blanket and dishwasher basket.
9. Put wooden letter on the sippy cup.
10. Wrap the blanket/handle bars through the sippy cup handles and secure with rubber band and paper clips.
11. Put bib and phone on stuffed animal.
12. Wrap jute cord around stuffed animal and tie a bow in front of the rubber band and paper clips on the handle bars.
13. Add booties to handle bar.
14. Put 2 receiving blankets in basket with the extra booties, diapers, and bib.
15. Tie basket with jute cord to dishwasher basket to make the trailer.
16. Put bow on the back of trailer/basket.
17. Put flowers into the diaper wheels.
18. Place the 4-wheeler and trailer on top of the foam board.
19. Wrap everything in the giant gift bag.
This video is great. It gave me all the basics and I was able to tweak as needed from there. There are 2 things I did differently:
1) Instead of using paper towel inserts, I used a pool noodle from either Dollar Tree or Dollar General (I forget). That way, I was able to cut them to the width I needed for the little storage box I used for the seat.
2) Since it was a storage box, I put small baby items in it, such as the other pairs of socks that came in the pack (that I used for the handlebars), pacifiers, baby-sized fingernail clippers, suction bulb, etc.
You did an awesome job making the diaper cake and I enjoyed watching the tutorial. But my heart was simply melted with the genuine love shown toward your son and your interaction with him. And it was so obvious it wasn't for the video by the way he responded to you. God bless you both !
Love it! I added baby wrist rattles to the handle bars and used them to hold the stuffed animal's hands to the bars... So it looks like he's holding on driving! And we bought the tiny radio flyer wagon and filled it with gifts for the wheeler to pull the wagon instead... So cute.

This is so creative and cute! One of the things that I love about this design is that you are creating the wheels by fanning the diapers. Another video I saw made a really good point that new moms probably don’t want to sit there and unroll all those diapers when they need them, so this is perfect!

Oh my gosh! This was so much fun making. I used packing tape to keep my axels together and I had flannel fabric on hand instead of blankets so I used it. I also put a bike license plate on the back. Thank you for your great directions.

You did a great job!! This is the first time I have ever seen a 4-wheeler diaper cake. I have to say it is adorable!!! My oldest granddaughter is having her first. She's due to deliver baby Charlotte January 2nd. Just 5 days before my birthday. I wish I was able to attend her baby shower b/c I'd definitely make a pretty pink version of this. Great job. I made two, one for boy and one for girl. I used a bundt pan instead of the spring pan you used. This helped keep the same hole size for the paper towel roll.
