The whole block buster action stuff took over the genre simply because of the times the game were created in. If they didn’t evolve everyone would be complaint that the games didn’t change so it was simply something that had to happen at some point. If RE went back to the old style I would still enjoy it just as much but RE6 did something amazing with the freedom of movement in combat.

Anything out of this is irrelevant. And I agree, all the spin offs are absolute abominations. Even Revelations 1 and 2 were fairly well done and it's technically speaking kinda sorta a spin off that overlaps with the regular series. I dont include Code Veronica simply because it's an integral part of the resident evil story and debated to be one of the best in the franchise if not, the best. It was also intended to be RE 3 and for business reasons was later changed.
Nope the game was utter trash, shame really because I liked the the start of leons campaign when you are in the University but it goes down hill fast after that. Only main line and one of the few RE franchise as a whole games I never finished it was that bad.

Re4 has it's own unique horror elements, the problem is the companies in that time thought that the generation of the kids that they were clinging into were more into action oriented style, but they were simply catering into a wrong audience and so were bashed into it for removing the horror elements of it. Of course people will enjoy as a nostalgia, but the way the company treated the audience as such during 2009-2016, they deserve a slap in the face.

I think most of us got introduced to the RE franchise with this game. My father (now in his late 40’s) used to play a lot with PlayStation when he was younger. He didn’t had any child at that time so all he did was play video games. One of his favorites is Resident Evil. He loves this franchise. Now that he had kids he doesn’t have any time to play games anymore. But, he did bought a PlayStation3 just in case he’d play some games again. There, he bought Resident Evil 6. That’s where I got introduced to this franchise. I don’t care what others say, this game is memorable and a masterpiece for me. It is so underrated.
2022 Here, just while im writing this comment i have finished Adas campaing (the others too long time ago), and i honestly love RE6 Story and how It connects through everything, the campings are incredible with very memorable characters, the mechanisms of combat and weapons are very easy and fun, Its an amazing game, dont ever let others ruin anything until you play by yourself really, the game is awesome

It's uncanny. Chronologically, there's an 8 year gap in between RE6 and RE8. If you don't count death island, that's a huge time gap. I wonder what Leon, Jill and the others are up to these days. I sure do miss them all before the series reboot in 2017. IMHO, and I don't think anything in the new era is bad, but since RE7 and RE2make, it hasn't felt like the same series. And in the remakes, their personalities aren't even the same.

But since RE7 & RE2Remake, they have outdone themselves in term of horror, survival and action while emphasis on the horror part. And in terms of personalities, i think there are nothing wrong with it, and it goes to show how Leon and the others developed throughout the series. I really hope that RE9 or other titles they would bring back the old characters again like Jill, Claire, Rebecca, Sherry and possibly other characters like idk Billy Coen lol. They really sleeping on that

I played RE4 on the switch I can understand why it was critically acclaimed. I loved the fact that I got to kill so many enemy’s. But i still think RE 6 is the best, the move/and shoot mechanics is the most fun I got out of in the game.
Don’t care what nobody says RE 6 is one of my all time favorites behind RE 2 and RE 4. It’s one of the most replayable when I need a pick me up. Honestly I was disappointed RE 7 didn’t continue “Jakes” story after 6. Considering he is Weskers son and his blood contains a cure. They could’ve done even more with his story to develop in 7. I still have hope RE 9 will be a true sequel to the characters from 6. 🤞🏽
My friend and I played Split Screen of all the campaigns. I didn’t have online but this game was so much damn fun, and also was intense. A lot of good memories I just picked up the triple pack of the Modern RE Games as of 4,5,and 6 My brothers have played RE4 I have not yet so I’m going to play them chronologically. Currently on RE4, 1st Run Normal Can’t wait to get back on this game and follow the timeline properly.
Re6 is my most favorite re game. It's divided into chapters. The characters are iconic. It's nice to see Sherry after all this time and the replayability is endless. Absolutely love it.
This game isn’t nearly as bad as the hate it gets. Apparently it’s just popular to automatically say RE6 sucks. I prefer it over 5. At least it has way more content, goes back to zombies, and takes place at night.

I just don't know why can't people just let the story developed. I mean, It have been over 20 years since the first story, things have to change and story need to move on. Game still has the better Game mechanics literally would've improved more if they carried this out in Resident 7 spin of towards how Resident 6 was presented. I did love switching towards the 4 Campaigns with each having a different variety of enemies and obstacles CHRIS REDFIELD = being Action/Packed Leon S Kennedy = Survival and Horror mixed between how the suspense was given in the beginning literally reminded me a bit of the atmosphere when venturing through a escape and searching for survivors. Jake = With it being run against Time That focus on being persuaded by The BOW Ustatank I think don't remember how u correctly pernounce it. But it felt a bit of Like nemesis Being hunted down. Hands down It has one of the best Moments in Mercenaries. Which capcom should've have never took that out in both Resident 7 and 8 With 8 looking like a shooting arcade gallery with no playable characters Re 7 and 8 really lacks the replay and Would've introduce a proper Mercenaries Mode given how Traditionally it was a huge bonus for me cause that's what got me to enjoy the layouts with tons of waves of enemies with new and memorable characters. Re 6 definitely deserve a second chance to be loved given how 7 and 8 lack the involvement of having something to enjoy after a Endgame Journey in The Resident evil Campaign Story.
Resident Evil 6 did not attract many because it was based more around "action" and fast paced game play than horror and suspense. I cant remember getting even slighting spooked with RE5 or RE6. Sure, the games where fun but I forgot i was playing a Resident Evil title in which is why the games missed the mark for fans.

I mean if the developers can pull it off with attention to detail on RE5 and RE6 including gameplay and story plots even everything else then the remakes could be a success.
Feel like this game was made to showcase Leon being a military expert and good at dealing with zombies and people get mad for no reason that the game isn't fully focused on zombies but also on the fast action genre.
Considering the cast of highly experienced characters, it actually made more sense for RE6 to be as action oriented as it was. There was a shit ton of effort that went into the creation of this game and nearly everyone shat on it. At least it's getting the love it deserves nowadays. 👍🏻

Two things I loved about this game: Leon's campaign and the action/shooting is really good fun. Chris' campaign was OK (played as Piers) and the others were a bit meh (still good fun shooting though)
Yeah never liked resident evil 7 or 8 with the non resident evil characters in first person shooter gameplay but enjoyed resident evil 6 with the gameplay and resident evil characters and also all the different characters story mode and extras in the game
Loved this game, don't care what people thought of it. RE4 was the start of the Action/Horror resident evil ended up turning into. I am excited about 9 that's in the works, and the ultimate remake of 4, because 4 just wasn't that great.

The first resident evil i played. Like way back when I was 14 i think. Loved this, i completed every campaigu except ada for some reason especially th3 chris redfield one. The camera was sligtly weird but the every other aspect of gameplay was fun. The story wasn't greatest but it was still really good. It gete better when you encounter other playable characters while playing as someone.
I think if this game gets a remake they may add some features to make it feel more like Resident Evil instead of just your typical action game. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, it just doesn't feel like a true Resident Evil game like RE 4 or later updates like 7 or 8.
Looking at 6 right now, the blueprint laid down by the 4 remake is here. If it's stripped back and made to lean more in the general direction of horror, I truly believe 6 could work as a remake.

Don’t care what nobody says RE 6 is one of my all time favorites behind RE 2 and RE 4. It’s one of the most replayable when I need a pick me up. Honestly I was disappointed RE 7 didn’t continue “Jakes” story after 6. Considering he is Weskers son and his blood contains a cure. They could’ve done even more with his story to develop in 7. I still have hope RE 9 will be a true sequel to the characters from 6. 🤞🏽

My friend and I played Split Screen of all the campaigns. I didn’t have online but this game was so much damn fun, and also was intense.

My brothers have played RE4 I have not yet so I’m going to play them chronologically.

Re6 is my most favorite re game. It's divided into chapters. The characters are iconic. It's nice to see Sherry after all this time and the replayability is endless. Absolutely love it.
This game isn’t nearly as bad as the hate it gets. Apparently it’s just popular to automatically say RE6 sucks. I prefer it over 5. At least it has way more content, goes back to zombies, and takes place at night.

It would have been better received if they released it as a spinoff instead of a mainline title.
It was justified, it was the only resident evil I didn’t finished it, I remember I went to the store, got the game and it never kept my attention, too much action and Hollywood set pieces, resident evil was never about that.
Its been a simple pleasure in life to have been there as everyone of these games has been released .. I'll never forget renting a PS1 and RE1 .. not knowing anything about it... all the way till now, waiting for remakes of my old favs...
I just don't know why can't people just let the story developed. I mean, It have been over 20 years since the first story, things have to change and story need to move on. It can't be just horror survival forever. That bs logic puzzle is getting staled. Even Leon, Chris and everyone else is tired the horror shit, they just want to punch their way through and get the jobs done.

Leon S Kennedy = Survival and Horror mixed between how the suspense was given in the beginning literally reminded me a bit of the atmosphere when venturing through a escape and searching for survivors.

Re 6 definitely deserve a second chance to be loved given how 7 and 8 lack the involvement of having something to enjoy after a Endgame Journey in The Resident evil Campaign Story.

Resident Evil 6 did not attract many because it was based more around "action" and fast paced game play than horror and suspense. I cant remember getting even slighting spooked with RE5 or RE6. Sure, the games where fun but I forgot i was playing a Resident Evil title in which is why the games missed the mark for fans.

This game on the Nintendo switch looks phenomenal and it allows you to play as RPD Leon throughout the campaign and mercenaries.
I can see both RE5 and RE6 having remakes within the next 5 years or so. That'd be fucking dope if it were to happen
A code veronica remake or a dino crisis remake or a parasite eve remake would be dope.
I really think these 2 should be left alone. 5 and 6 were weaker entries in the franchise. I enjoy both of them (6 more), but I could definitely pass on a remake of these.

Considering the cast of highly experienced characters, it actually made more sense for RE6 to be as action oriented as it was. There was a shit ton of effort that went into the creation of this game and nearly everyone shat on it. At least it's getting the love it deserves nowadays. 👍🏻

Two things I loved about this game: Leon's campaign and the action/shooting is really good fun. Chris' campaign was OK (played as Piers) and the others were a bit meh (still good fun shooting though)

Yeah never liked resident evil 7 or 8 with the non resident evil characters in first person shooter gameplay but enjoyed resident evil 6 with the gameplay and resident evil characters and also all the different characters story mode and extras in the game

The first resident evil i played. Like way back when I was 14 i think. Loved this, i completed every campaigu except ada for some reason especially th3 chris redfield one.
The camera was sligtly weird but the every other aspect of gameplay was fun. The story wasn't greatest but it was still really good. It gete better when you encounter other playable characters while playing as someone.

I think if this game gets a remake they may add some features to make it feel more like Resident Evil instead of just your typical action game. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, it just doesn't feel like a true Resident Evil game like RE 4 or later updates like 7 or 8.

Looking at 6 right now, the blueprint laid down by the 4 remake is here. If it's stripped back and made to lean more in the general direction of horror, I truly believe 6 could work as a remake.
