Hey man, suppose I have put 3 myrmica rubra queens in 1 test tube & a couple days later I find a couple more queens and want to put them into the same tube. Do you think there will be some kind of issue with this?
And another question I have is: Should I put this colony into a tubs & tubes setup? I have heard some mixed opinions on these. Some people said that they used to do this but they found that their colonies were more successful without an outworld, even when it's a semi claustral species. And some people say it's a must. Anyway if I make a small outworld for them like this, can I use Insect-a-slip or some other type of barrier? or should I skip that for a small setup like this?
@Brigand17 tubs and tubes seruos are great especially if you want to chuck loads of queen's together. Itl give them space and multiple nesting areas, rubras are polydomus so have multiple nests with multiple queen's all interconnected together. While founding there accepting if new queen's though:)
I always see Solenopsis Xyloni fly out this time especially here in California. Love those fire ants theyre much more chill than invicta and geminata.
That species seems alot nicer than the evil ones for sure, ants ants colonys look much more placid and manageable.
Great video
Thanks :)
Break out the propane torch. Around my house. LoL
I hope for luring them in to catch lol
