Hi Nayri! Thank you so much for your videos - they've helped me choose the perfect dress for my wedding this June! Quick question for you: My dress is a strapless ball gown. When I had my alterations appointment today, the dress was pretty tight and was restricting my breathing, but it fit around my body fine. My seamstress is going to let the dress out a bit, but I'm concerned it'll be too loose. Should I consider adding straps? Is this how strapless gowns are supposed to fit? Thank you so much! :)
Hi Melanie! It's my absolute pleasure, and I'm so happy you found my videos helpful! It is totally fine to let her let out the dress a little and see how it fits. Trust the process and your seamstress. I actually have a video coming out on strapless dresses in 4 weeks. Just in case you need the info sooner - a strapless stays up based on the waist of the dress being tight. Just like a pair off jeans. Dresses expand throughout the day, so I do recommend a detachable strap to be created by the seamstress so you have the option to add the straps for additional support throughout the night if you feel the dress expands on you. Typically at the bottom on the sides but you should test it out and see what makes the most sense for you.
