@@wdbaudio i was looking at the prices of those subs on jl site 560 dollars for an 8 inch sub yeah its a very nice 8 inch sub high roll with great excursin but wont a sundown 8 be about the same i would love to see a excursion vid on the dc audio level 5 18 inch
@@Noah-or5gr I completely agree with you Noah! I definitely wouldn't buy another one of these subs, especially for the full price. That DC 18 would be a much better option for loud and low bass
So, they made it mount like that to reduce the mounting diameter by an inch or so? Sure, if you need the most bass possible from the smallest possible setup this is the way to go but for me that's a no. No doubt it's a good driver though but never considered one for myself especially for their prices.
Not quite, it was to maximise the surface area available in a 'normal' 8 inch footprint. Normal 8 inch subwoofers actually have an approximately 6.5 inch cone diameter
Do you have any suggestions for an 8" subwoofer that is 4ohms and around 130w? I would like to replace my Logitech Z623 sub with something more capable, don't mind if I need to do some wood work but I'm not very knowledgeable in wiring. My budget is around $50 (£38) my current option is the DCS205-4 from Dayton Audio.
Brilliant excursion! :) Nice slow motion. a horrifying way to mount this speaker, but thank you for showing it. I did not know about it.
Very strange mounting process....
It makes excursion look easy! Nicely built sub that's for sure....
U ever seen the DC audio eight it is beautiful
Daniel Harrell dc give me a break can’t even come near this w7 buddy
bella phone you sound like you’ve never heard of good brands😂you sound like those basic kicker guys
@@dnsbb8033 and you sound like kicker is a knock of brand . You ever heard of kicker solo x. Old timer . Lol .
I have a 8w7ae-3 & there’s a larger gap on the clamp ring then others. Any advice to close it more?
That is actually a nice glue job. My speakers never look that nice. A lot of times, the rubber surrounds fall off.
thx, nice video! those slow mo parts are great!
Love your intro lol
"Hello youtubers"
👌
Aww Lovely slowmotion!
Is it just me or is that alot of mechanical noise?
Not masses - there's a bit of air noise from the vents and then the bed frame is a lot from how I positioned the sub
WdB ahh okay thanks for the reply great video man keep up the good work
I’m thinking about running 2 of them in my Chevy Silverado ext cab . Or one 12W6 or two 10W3’s . I can’t make up my mind .

is it just me or is that suspension and spider really soft and not so stiff as many other brands?
Sebas Zoontjes the resonant frequency of this driver is very low for an 8. It does still have good suspension control though
yes i know, i like the soft suspension because you dont have to fire huge amount of power in it to make some good db's :P
i didnt said that... but if the power is clean yes you can ive pushed sony xplods on 4 times their ratings. so it all depends on clean power
W7's can take a beating. I have 2 rite now hooked up to 1200/1v3 an them bad boys be slappin!
Sebas Zoontjes I had 4 sony xplods on 800 watts a piece for over two years no problems. Def under rated subs
aww yeah pendulum
Cheers 🍻
You sell speaker drivers?
Not planning to
Where did you find this?
Shamar Daniel ebay!
WdB how much
Amp?
I need that subwoofer I cant seem to find a good used one but I can find 2 for 400
Mr.awesome/ Dasaka7 2 for 400 is a good deal
Ct sounds
@@jr-fy7hh I'd spend 400 on 2 used w7s any day before I purchased that Chinese junk
Jk8. W 7 kis tarike se book hoga
Sounds like the coil is rubbing inside

@@wdbaudio Well, that depends on how one wants to see it. JL could have called this subwoofer larger than 8 inch.
Man that looks like a major pain in the ass to install if you got several of them in a awkward configuration
Very true, I think that's why I've never seen more than 2 or 3 in a system!!
WdB although great for deterring theft
Yes but definitely the best way to maximize cone sd without taking up more baffle space

Tôi muốn mua về Việt nam có zip được không
Way harsh clipping, you peaked that subs excursion and some!
Прям прямой.
? Ohm, ? Watt
just type the model in the fkn discription and find it yourself before making a stupid comment like this
