THE MAKING OF.. ‘IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL’

We’ve had a few music videos since MCO started in March 2020. They were simple ones which entailed each singer to record one’s self video and sending it in so that they could be combined together in separate windows but with one voice.
When the choir leaders thought through this latest video, we wanted it to be different. With the easing of MCO restrictions, we decided on an acapella piece that would have us each singing separately in a studio while each of the voices are being recorded.
This would then be synchronised with a video to be shot together with the whole choir, and we wanted to do it in FGAKL’s main sanctuary which has been closed for the last one year due to MCO requirements.
The location was chosen to remind our church members that the church is here physically and awaiting a return to normal service in hopefully the very near future.
The setting was intentionally
dimly lit and a little sombre. This is to be contrasted with the tone and lyrics sung which is one of hope and faith in the Lord where each of us carries His Light within our hearts to see us through all adversities in our current circumstances.
We hope you will enjoy the song, and that it connects with you meaningfully and comforts you.
