Your presentation and editing are actually perfect. They serve to get your points across VERY clearly and are easily understood, even by those not already familiar with LEGO or custom minifigures. Just have to give credit where credit is due, on this one. You’re only getting better, it’s honestly pretty cool to see.
One distinction I would add (for anyone interested) is that, as the creator of this video knows, the UV print looks 3D/ raised texture *because it genuinely is much thicker.* A lot more ink is necessary in UV printing than pad printing, before it is rapidly dried. As a result, the printing is much more susceptible to getting scratched off and easily worn down.
For the curious, both 4-LOM's in this video are made by HillHilligus2015 (aka LSW.Toys), both with resin-printed and spray-painted heads The UV printed one is his Version 1, the head of which is decaled The pad printed one is Version 2, the head of which is pad printed as well but the torso pattern is missing one of its stripes Both are currently sold out, but according to Hilli a Version 3 is in the works this year.
@ Only got into TCS collecting a month ago actually. Stuff sells out fast so when you’re as late into the game as I am you gotta make up for lost time lmao
I also agree that pad printing looks much nicer and matches what Lego themselves use is a nice bonus. But UV printing is still pretty good, and in my experience with buying custom minifigures, UV printed figures can be a bit cheaper if you're on a budget or don't care *too* much about the different printing techniques. For example, I got 5 UV printed figures from Firestar Toys, and I think the quality on them is amazing even though they're UV printed. They would look even better if pad printed, but as they are I think they're still great.
A question i wish many UA-camrs that do custom printing would answer is: where to get pad printers or how to make things for them and the like. They say all the pros and cons but never actually explain where they get their pad printers or uv printers or heck even those machines used to chromify pieces..
Shouldn’t the 4LOMs in the thumbnail be switched? The one you put in your collection in episode 9 that you said was pad printed had a misprint on the torso in which you showed the UV printed 4LOM which didn’t have the misprint
I love transparent Yoda he is so beautiful with that cloak

Your explanation was very comprehensive and easy to understand. Great video, man. 👏
Completely agree 😊
Yeah I prefer pad printing as well and I can only think of one time lego used UV printing on a lego piece. Very good informational video!

Thank you for the video! This really helped me understand it better, and it was really informative too.
@@Tronic-X1 glad to hear it, the art of making videos is something I’m trying to work very hard to get good at 🙏🏼🤝🫡
A good look at different types of printing. With plastic different finishes may not work as well. Although these are both good ones to use.

Will you ever get Astromech heads with wider prints, like in the game? Or are the official figures good enough?

I'll stick with UV print until I can find some decent looking pad printed LOTR figs
That’s fair I haven’t heard anything about pad lotr figs atp
It bothers me how the UV printed 4-LOM is TCS accurate whereas the pad printed is not

Well yeah, no kidding lol.
So don’t you mean to say “the WORST* pad printing looks better than the NICEST uv printing” ?
