If you’re not getting it try this: 1. Make sure there is a smooth vibration and not a shaky one. 2. Drop your jaw low enough so you can here the resonance of the sound. 3 make sure the only part of your lip vibrating is the side that you are doing the lip roll on. Don’t vibrate your whole lip. I would say the third is the most important one, just because that’s what I was doing wrong and it is one of the most common mistakes.

There's no air, you just do it with the pressure, but the pressure is supposed to go in.
