If you remember the 30 inch storm in 1996, the night before the highest prediction from local media was 7"-9". I followed it closely because I had houses to shove and money to make. And the field behind my house got 34 inches, I measured with a meter stick, and some of the drifts were well over 40 inches.
Some people take the weather way too serious. Especially if we only might get 1-3 inches of snow. When has a meteorologist ever said “this is exactly what’s going to happen”? I never heard them say that. This is all what we might expect. They’re giving a prediction which is what might happen if a hypothesis is true. They always say things like “possibly” and “depending on..”. They’re pretty much telling you they’re not sure. It’s not that difficult lol
