  • So, I've got about 48 hours before I have to get the Indiegogo campaign to at least its first goal in order to keep it running as we make the album. So, for the next 48 hours, I'm going to be, basically, messaging everyone I've ever met, algorithms being what they are. If you want to avoid that, well, you know what to do... (www.indiegogo....)
It's hard to express exactly how important it is to me (and how grateful I am) to get this new music (and the old music heard). It's been 25 odd years of graft now and it's very easy to get disheartened. When making things is your job, they basically hand out ulcers at the door. No security, no sanity, no guarantee that any of your hard work will be noticed or rewarded. At the same time, you can't get bitter. No one owes you a damned thing.
But it can be hard, even without a brain ordered from Wish, to get the energy up to keep going. Thankfully or tragically, I don't know how to quit.
In that spirit, here's a sneak peek from the recording sessions, a studio version in progress of 'Heart Enough'. I am in the middle of an argument with myself about whether it can survive being this bare bones, with my guitar playing (such as it is) upfront. I do ordinarily like to throw arrangement at my weaknesses (as I have done this week on two much more elaborate pieces).
But Chris says I should leave it alone. (Other than another take of the guitar, where I'm little less Little Hands of Concrete). I think he was talking about the song. I do sometimes hide in his cupboards and move his tins around.
    What say you, hivemind?
