    I am very glad that you use protection on your angle grinder. Those who say I don't need to because I know what I'm doing haven't yet lost their fingers or an eye. I use a cheaper Esab MIG with fluxcore and you really show me the way. I have no school and learn by trying. Thanks for all your great videos.

      You’re mighty welcome. I fall short sometimes. I try to lead by example.

      I lost 8'' of small intestine and my appendix to an angle grinder because it didn't have a guard on it. I flash the surgery scar to the new guys to show them what could happen if they're stupid.

      @@haraldlonn898 I’ve had a wire break off my wire wheel and lodge itself in my eye while wearing safety gear, safety glasses, welding mask etc. Safety gear does solve all problems. Wire bounced off my chest and ricocheted up into my eye. Luckily in the white and not the important part. I finished my work day self employed and when I got home pulled the wire out.

    This is the process I spend 90% of my time doing and its great, by far the fastest and best for STD wall pipe and Sch 80

    That is some of THE MOST liquidic Flux Core welding pool I have ever seen! Not sure what brand you're using but it is impressive. Thank you for showing the 'flaws' and everything. Your welding is truly impressive but you share and show it with calmness and being open about it as you go. Inspiring and honest; bit fan. Keep up the great work!

      Thanks for the kind words. As much as I’d like to clean up the video and “do it better” I’ve found most people need to see the mistakes more than the successes. 😅

    I don't feel so bad at 62 with failing eye site, I lose track of my joint a lot more now than I used to. I can still see my puddle but sometimes wander off course. 🤣🤣 Happy Thanksgiving.

      Get yourself a whiteout pen (Bic) titanium oxide easy line to follow, won't burn off easily, be it stick MIG cutting torch ect.

    I don't know if your dual shield settings were off or if your machine just didn't wanna run it but that dual shield should be spraying and you're still in short circuit mode with dualshield

      It was some older wire. Maybe that was the reason. I know the sound you’re looking for. It did sound “crunchy”. I welded the settings I would have normal. But I know what yah mean

    I have never seen a welding procedure that allows more than a 12mm width on the weld, you were well on the borderline if not over 12mm before you added the last strings.

    I really enjoy the videos y'all make. BUT unfortunately i don't have access to this fancy equipment. I have a 1987 lincoln weldenpower. It is a pretty good machine. I also have a early 2000's lincoln weldpak 100 flux core welder. So can that weld you just did be done with my flux core welder? It only has A,B,C and D for amps/volts and a 1-9 for wire speed. 😂 Challenge

    • @AustinHargett
      @AustinHargett 2 місяці тому +2

      Haha negative. You’re gonna need a bigger rig for the dual shield. 😅 might could put the bead in… maybe lol

      Perhaps you can go down in wire diameter, that would keep the arc intensity but obviously you’d be there longer.

    • @rickrunyon5086
      @rickrunyon5086 2 місяці тому

      @sonofadutchman9315 I would have to check but I believe I'm running a .30 flux core. My machine says it will do up to a 1/2" but that's probably a professional welder thing lol.

    You'll have to excuse my ignorance here but why run the file around the outside of the weld?

      Straightens out the toes if they’re crooked. It’s a “tidy it up” kinda thing. Not necessary.
