When you reach Windhoek, go to Botswana Embassy and file a complaint and tell them how you were harassed at the border by their Immigration Staff.
Garima write your full story to the Botswana Government, am sure nothing will change but the Botswana govt & people will know in these times of digital world its harrasment to international travellers.

You should file a complaint before the appropriate authoritie and with the complaint you should attach copies of both the visas. I am sure some will be taken which will be fruitful to other travelers in future . Though you did the right thing by getting a fresh visa on arrival.

This is very intresting, One people from any country represent the whole country and that's what i experienced on my bagpacking south east asia trip most of my foreigner friends told me that indian people sometimes very rude and they talk loudly and blah blah and i was trying to tell them you can't judge whole country from just meeting one person and then they were Started saying you're right and I'm sorry for that but that's not their fault. It's everywhere if we also have a bad experience with anyone we judge the whole country.... The only point I'm trying to convey here that guys if you're reading this and you're traveller or you're not doesn't matter but please whenever you're interacting with any outsider try to be polite and beware because you're representing your country thank you. We faced the same problem Garima! Our client sent us Botswana visa, but my boss was told "where did you get it?" and then he had to wait for a long time and finally buy a new visa I guess, frustratingly !!
Too unprofessional and uneducated behavior for a developed country
I have a feeling they play this game to pocket the money and do this to all travellers.
