I've told friends about seeing bucks in the late season grouped up and they don't believe me !
Now that's Living Proof !

Really appreciate that! Just about 2 weeks ago is when I finally saw deer in their winter groups. Went from seeing single bucks and groups of 3-4 does to groups of bucks like that and groups of 15 does. Thanks for watching!
Our mountain deer group back up in December here in va. Was lucky enough to take a 180 inch 10 home one year, that was with 2 more bucks that were 4.5 or over.

Last day is 15th..Wish I had the over population of deer her on public in Dauphin county public..Slim Pickens here.Another good video.Haven’t laid eyes on a deer all Flinter season and no snow except for one day basically till rain ,elated it.

I al said carry a grunt tube.Looked like a great hunt.Im still holding a buck tag too.Going to go out tomorrow.But my hopes aren’t very high.
@dswish1730 last day of General Pennsylvania flintlock and archery ends tomorrow. Got first real snow here in beaver County yesterday. Want call off work slip out crossbow so bad. 2b still running till the 27th

Great video as always. Was nice to finally meet you in person. Definitely was a tough season with the smoke poles. Weather just wouldn’t cooperate. Rain and snow then a freeze that put that crust on top. Glad we were able to get a few guys together on the last couple days for a few drives. Ended up being a productive year.

Great video Dan. You are the best at finding the deer. Especially on public land. Great sportsmanship too to not want take a poor shot. The reward was watching all those bucks that will probably make it through the hunting season. Unless you scored on the last day. Lol.

Sometimes you can buck grunt and stay behind trees and get close enough. Tough being so many of them. Cool to see a big bachelor group interact. Good luck in the future.

We got 2 more weeks of flintlock in Pa here in 2B
What great footage my pa brother. 6 nice bucks all one big group.
Did get munch snow here in beaver County till last night. For Sunday am. Lot rain in cold weather. Coyote mating season be in February might give chances slip in get rid few of those coyote save ur deer herd and turkeys.
Deer end Monday general with extended flintlock and archery till 27th in 2b , 5c, 5d . I live on 2b line if this sinuses cold breaks and work gives some time off may try slip out for one last chance if not this year still a great year. I fill a doe tag with my wifes uncle rifle and stock a doe on Puplic-Land with crossbow.

When I stalk deer I always keep a deer call around my neck in that scenario what do you have to lose trying ?
I wish we had that population her in york County. It sucks Thinking about moving some where else in pa. Or do like all my family did and stop hunting all together or start hunting Maryland like the rest.

What food sources to you look for? South side slopes?
This area had a good acorn crop this year. They also browse in that clearcut the bucks walked into. Deer have been on a very similar routine for the majority of the entire fall and winter in this area. I don’t really key in on slope direction too much anymore. Just if it’s really cold or windy out I’m looking on the leeward side ridges, where the deer tuck out of the wind. That’s what they were doing here.

effective range of a flintlock is 50 yards ? be better off carrying a good crossbow in late season, if that is the case
The effective range of a flintlock is more on the shooters ability than the rifle. Well built flintlocks are normally very accurate well beyond 100 yards.
thats for people who dont shoot flint much stay with your bow and if your taking 50 yard shots with it your not much of a hunter
Man of fat flintlock won't shoot 150 yd I wouldn't own it
Pretty awesome experience even without getting a shot. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. There are very few people who are more efficient at getting on deer on public!
