In the story of Ann Rodgers I just cannot believe the reaction of her daughter at first?? If your elderly mother doesn't turn up by the evening, you call and make sure she's okay! Not sulk for days because you think she missed your kid's birthday! smh

I read your comment again and I think you meant if Ann did not show or call on the grandkids birthday the daughter should have called immediately to find out if she was ok. I got your train of thought. I would have called my mother that same day!

It made me think of the dust bowl and the great depression. I've experienced a few where I live and they are something to behold. It looks like they move so slow and before you know it, it's everywhere. You can look right at the sun and the sand that gets in your mouth and lungs is awful!! Seems like the one's I've experienced have always been followed by a good rain

Patiently waiting for 5 scary dessert stories
That last story not only made my skin crawl but had me laughing too! I used to wear these baggy jeans in middleschool, and felt a crawling sensation when I was sitting at my home computer. When I realized it wasn't the jeans I shook them out, a damn scorpion fell out, by the grace of God it didn't sting me. I swear I never jumped so high in my life! My mom found me on top of the coffee table screaming my head off! Remembering those needle like legs crawling on my skin still make me shudder!!! 😱

Mother Nature has scared me many times. Living in NC & SC. We get anything from Cat 4 Hurricanes to 10 ft Flooding & Ice storms. We deal with a lot here. Many of us have lost several homes, vehicles & family. It's scary

Anne Rodgers is a badass old lady! That's who I want to be if I ever get lost and stranded. I have camping and survival experience, but have never been in such a dire situation.
The 4th story was brutal, I'm glad that the killer was caught, hopefully he get's for all eternity in prison. And the last story, it was creepy, if I had been in the guy's place I probably would have been running, but it was hard not to cringe at the names he used for that part of his anatomy.

I was trekking around in the desert for absolutely no reason by myself in the middle of the night. It was really dark. I felt like someone was watching me. Then…I heard movement like a twig snapping. in the middle of nowhere. It was even more dark. It was so scary. I froze for 40 minutes. I finally got up the nerve to turn on my flash light and pointed at the direction of the movement. It was a gigantic pork sword.

OMG the scorpion story....I couldn't help myself bursting out laughing...the poor guy. I was holding my breath & flinching one second & laughing uncontrollably the next...then the inevitable jokes from his buddies....closer than your wife's been in years....I almost fell off my chair...excellent little story.

I experienced a sandstorm while living in Saudi Arabia. You can't run away from it! We sheltered in an abandoned petrol station, hiding behind counters away from the windows that shattered. After the storm passed and we returned to our vehicles the sides facing the storm were sand-blasted down to the bare metal! A terrifying experience!
