oh it most definitely depicts the loss of innocent youth, it's a very.. nostalgic "i miss my youth despite the pain it brought me, as it also brought me many good things" to put it simply! the group being together in their "youth" or in the past as it implies while they're not all together in the "now" anymore also depicts how you lose people as you grow older, whether that's literally or figuratively. it's a lot of back and forth between the "now" and the "past" aka their youth. daeyeol (the one in the chalk) actually confirmed that he died in the mv. I think it could be taken many different ways though. like it's also a feeling of grieving when you look back to your youth, if that makes sense. also yes- it's them with the zombie mv! It's called "burn it" :)
This is definitely my favourite Golden Child song, I normally have a really hard time comparing and quantifying between songs I like which is why I never make ranked lists but I would confidently say this would be in the top 10 for me for last year. Can't stop listening to it still. I popped into the twitch stream just as you were doing the outro so I've been looking forward to seeing the actual reaction 😂
I also LOOOVE this song, the other 2 songs on the album are just as amazing. The song being 3 and a half minutes long makes me so happy, I'm so sick of the shorter format songs a lot of groups are doing these days, but that's just me. 🌝 Loved your reaction, thanks!
am a month late, but this song was amazing i’m glad you liked it!! fun fact, it was produced by nine.i’s vahn! vahn produces most of nine.i’s music, so i have a feeling you might like them ;) especially parallel universe and young boy
6:39: the two part TEXTS on the beginning of the MV translated as: "There was just as much happiness as pain; To my youth that I hated just as much as I loved" "I wish I could dare say that even the pain was beautiful"
One of favourites in 2023! For sure. I love their past title tracks, but this one just hits right in the emotions. Probably my fav among their title tracks. I'm always excited whenever they release something new.
i agree with your post apocalyptic statement! this song would go well as an epilogue with their dark, dystopian series of burn it and ra pam pam this is the kind of grungy, youthful rock sound that you would also hear in some 2nd and 3rd gen songs, rather with a cheesy electronic synth in it. their more intense concepts is what made me get into golden child, over 4 years ago (i still barely know any members names haha) with their repackaged title track 'without you', which was minimalistic, but unique in it's own way. i also feel that their label isn't doing the best, since it was over 15 months (of a promotional korean release) prior to this release. many of their other artists haven't been as active in my opinion, though golden child still has great album sales overall. although Y is in the military, they still made this song amazing!
Golcha are always drinking lol Since you don't really see them in a variety or reality show setting and know them more from their music videos I guess it could come off as a bit of a shock tho honestly this group has never had much filter and despite the group name I don't think many people relize how old the members are now like the youngest Bomin is around 24 now

The new GIDLE album has such short songs 😭. It's a very annoying trend
