Enjoyed the video :) Couple of small points. There are 3 possibly 4 pools. There is a newly opened gym/fitness centre on site or you can go next door to the Rosen Plaza and use theirs. As security goes we couldnt find any fault. Locked all valuables in the safe and no issues. Our toddler reset the safe acouple of times and we had to call security to open it. They were there within minutes! On one occasion my father left a substantial amount of cash on the bed one morning. We didnt realise until we were away for the day. Arrived back that evening it was exactly where he had left it. Leading into that the dreaded "Tipping" the brits (same ourselves in Ireland) are awful at tipping, A lot of the time in the states they dont get it. All bar/wait/housekeeping staff are tipped in the states. Its the norm with the usual being 15-20% . For housekeeping its a dollar, per person per day so for a room in the with 2x Adults, 2x Kids $4 with a little thank you note so housekeeping know its for them. Otherwise they wont take it! Noise wise i would suggest not requesting pool view. We had originally requested pool view but we were happy not to get it. Groups in the pool (particularly young people) obviously make a little more noise up to pool closing . We had our 2 small kids with us so were usually crashed out by the time the pool closed. Id suggest anything above ground level. Facing the rear. People complain about noise from I4 but i can honestly say its never bothered us. With the room door closed it really isnt that loud. Plus with a rear facing room you are normally only 30 seconds away from your car :) Apologies for the looonnngggg post, just wanted to try and clarify a couple of things
@@TheFrugalBrit The last few times we have done Pointe, Previously we stayed at an Extended Stay deluxe our Travel Agent Booked for us(Once by the Castle Hotel on Universal Blvd and once down by SeaWorld) We have always considered moving from Rosen but considering you are only really sleeping there its hard to justiify other resorts. There are so many other Idrive locations with horror stories its hard to gamble on somewhere new when there are so many benefits to the Rosen at Pointe, Location for one. Its got to be the most central resort on idrive. Free wifi, free parking, No resort fees, walking distance to so much stuff. Very hard to pass it for the price and very hard to justify 2/300 a night just to sleep on site! If memory serves me correctly we paid 1000, cant remember if that was Euro or Dollars for 16 Nights in Rosen at Point over Easter this year..
Hard to argue against that. You do miss out a bit with some of the culture that Disney puts into their resorts, but like you say, the prices have just gotten absurd over the past couple decades.
We stay here whenever we go to america 4/5 times now over 6 years if you’re going to Florida from the uk you won’t be in the room that long. Great informative blogs, wish I had these too watch before I travelled to Orlando. Love the Rosen Inn@Pointe, it's all about location for us as we dont drive. Keep up the good work.
Great value for money for those on a budget . Stayed here once it was fine for our family of 4 . Again plus,s are free Wi-fi no resort fees and good location . Personally prefer Avanti International but had a great 2 week holiday here 😎
Great hotel right in the middle of everything you need in Orlando. I wish I had filmed a more details tour like your video... I will have to go back and try again 🙌😉
Thank you so much! I’m working on a ‘top 10 restaurants on I Drive’ video soon which should be released before you head out. Hope you have a great time!
Great video. Just one little caveat if you're heading to Universal in the summer: you will NOT get early entry if staying here. You have to be a guest at a Universal owned hotel to do that. Also, some higher end Universal hotels like Portofino Bay provide free Express Passes for guests. Just something to think about if going during a busy season. Still, I need to check out this hotel next time I go.
I found your channel yesterday and I’ve been really enjoying your videos. As someone who lives in Orlando some of them are pointless for me to watch, but I still watch them 😂 I guess it’s cool to see someone else’s take on the city and how people outside of Orlando view us. First hotel we ever stayed at in Orlando, back in 1992. It was called the Quality Inn Plaza in them days. We’ve stayed in many, many hotels in Orlando, from the top Disney ones right down to some of the cheaper places. The conclusion we always come to is that in the US, a room is a room. We go here every year fir the past 8 years . We stay for about 4 nights then onto a villa . We have NEVER had 1 problem . This place is spotless ! We always leave money for the cleaners at end . We have left things out on the bed etc and they are always neatly left back after cleaning . Just say hi to the people that work so hard for you and they will appreciate it and look after you . Our fridge didn't work properly last year and they where on it like a car bonnet within minutes and replaced the whole thing whilst we went for dinner . You can walk to all bars restaurants etc . And the convenience store is reasonable . Did you know you can get a discount on food if your over 55 ? We never eat there but I spoke to someone who told us this . I'll be going again this year . Hi Nicola, thank you for your feedback! I hear that you should tip roughly $1-$2 per day for your cleaner, and to do this every day rather than in total at the end of your stay. It has 3 pools 😀
Whups, indeed it has! Many thanks!
Has this place got a gym in it? Or a fitness centre?
I hear there’s a brand new fitness centre next to pool #2. I wouldn’t expect too much though. Apparently you can also use the fitness centre at the Rosen Plaza next door on I-Drive.
Cheers mate. Nice one for the info.
No probs matey, have a good one!
