I just know that in other reactions he's done (before he started doing lyric breakdowns as well) he would mention how he hadn't been paying attention to they lyrics, which let's face it, is easy to do when the visuals and choreography are so captivating. I just wanted to make sure he went back and paid attention to the lyrics since they are so damn good. :)

They are very similar but if you look closely you can see in the first performance they start out looking at each other and turn around to look at army. In the second performance they start out looking at (and singing to) army before turning towards each other🥺🥺🥺

Born singer is a remake of j-coles born sinner so there isn’t a studio version I believe. Also the lyrics are so personal to BTS and they usually get emotional singing this song. Even in these two versions since they are a couple years apart rm changed his lyrics to reflect that. Personally it’s one of my favorites simply for the passion they show during their lives

I don't like the way the video mix sounds because this makes the song sound unnatural. For that particular video one ear channel is their 2015 performance and the other ear is 2017. I think it’s kind of nice because you can hear the difference and see that RM changed a few lines in his verse in 2017 which you wouldn’t see if you were only listening to the audio of one performance like in a typical stage mix.
One performance is from years ago and the other is from 2017 when they are older. The lyrics are changed a little in the newer version. They layered the 2 performances which I think has a lot of meaning, like they're singing the same song with their younger selves years later.

As a song writer himself, he's actually really into the lyrics too, he made entire videos reacting to the lyrics only without the music 🤗 it's great
