In NC it's illegal to drive with a trailer hitch unless you have a trailer mounted. They can cause a ton of damage to the following vehicle during a rear-end collison. Sure, for the driver in front it'll protect you, but it'll fuck up whoever rear-ends you.

Borderline personality could also be a possibility, especially after the “I’m gonna k*ll myself” comment. Borderline personality makes you feel like the world is ending over the smallest inconveniences.
