My only gripe with this is I feel with only showing cutscene dialogue, we miss a lot of vital info from mission dialogue as well. Too much information is missing and the fluidity seems off several times. Other than that, love it!!
right? it's so difficult to edit a perfect version of this game together for a movie because the dialogue inbetween cutscenes during gameplay. like Hosea and Dutch in Colter by the fireplace or Hosea talking to Arthur about the Native Americans on the ride to Saint Denis. and the camp dialogue that you can miss. but putting a cinematic frame on all that dialogue would last over 10 hours

Everyone's complaining about the cuts but it's better than a 70 hour movie (I'm sure most everyone watching this knows, but completing the story mode alone takes 60-70 hours of playtime)
This is so cool & very well done!! Great way to introduce the story to people who don't play video games. Obviously the exact level of emotion can't be gained without actually playing as Arthur & experiencing the open world with him - but you did a great job of incorporating some of those riding & camp sequences in. Incredible work. :)
It’s hard to argue with you there. I’m updating it to have the finale sequence of chapter 6. I had the time to watch my edit start to finish finally so I already noticed a few slip ups I wanted to fix
Wish you didn't just skip through combat sequences, like the one at Sadie's house, it being the first action scene in the movie, it needed to hit. 7:43 _Especially with that theme,_ which sets the tone of the entire story... I know this is hard, and the effort is amazing. I'm still not sure I'd want to send this to people who have never played the game, but still think this is great. :)
I tried to do this and made it not even half way through the first chapter. Editing this entire behemoth of a story would make one video 6hrs long. No one would sit through that. So I broke it into parts but it is a lot of time to edit by yourself.
Yh I thought the same, you have to show some of the gunfight atleast just to emphasise the intensity of the situation. It was definitely missing when Sean and Arthur set fire to the barns and tobacco fields.
The storming of the Braithwaite place is hands down my favorite mission. I fucking loved the gang all walking menacingly and Dutch calling them “inbred trash”. The score is great too as you burn that place down. Perfect 👍
When I got to chapter 2, almost all the challenges were done, I got some hidden dialogue, but when I got to chapter 4, I felt like I wanted to go back to chapter 2 again or start over from the beginning ahahhaa

Hands down one of the all-time best games. Even if ya don't like the genre, the story and acting are undeniably top notch, every bit as good as a movie, and better than 99% of the drivel coming out of Hollywood lately. Graphics and animations are also stunning. But what struck me the most in a mightily impressive piece of gaming history is the depth of detail.
What I always found kinda poetic is Dutch says at the very start "We shoot fellas need shooting. Saved fellas as need saving, and feed them as need feeding" Basically sums up Arthurs morals throughout the game. Feed tha gang members when they need food. Saves most of the gang members that get in trouble And kills the people who are considered enemies (O'Driscolls, pinkerton's, Lemoyne Raiders) Showing that Arthur actually practiced what he preached
One of my favourite games was The Godfather. I liked how you played a hidden movie character (the one who put the horse’s head). It works. Games try to copy old movies anyway. Saving Pvt Ryan/D-Day scene comes to mind. Cutscenes are cinematic anyway, I don’t know. I’ve always wanted games to go that way, they went the Twitch & griefer way tho. It’d be a whole thing to write the story around tho, you couldn’t be the main hero. You’d have to be like Claude (GTA3) and have cutscenes scenes without him (maybe Maria’s the main character lol). I don’t know, I’m ranting. Cool job 👍 Actual movie length
You did a great job on the edits, but you left out the some of the key missions which add to the whole story. I know the video would be a lot longer, but you could have just made into 2 epic parts. Other than that, it was well done.

Honestly I'm disappointed with how many chunks of cutscenes were cut out for no reason. Like, what's the deal with it jumping from Molly's death to John asking for a loan in the epilogue then ending entirely?? This isn't a "complete movie".
Yeah sorry about that, I stopped the ‘movie’ at the natural stopping point of players which was after chapter 5 where a lot of singleplayer base dropped off becsuse they saw where the story was slowly going. I do have an extended version by 30 minutes on my channel with the final ending sequence, I just hadn’t thought to include it in this version because all of my fan edits have gotten no attention and I had no idea how many would see this. I did rerelease this vid with the full ending though
Gg brother, I just wasted a month of time in pre production to turn it into a UA-cam version of a tv series 😭 I may still do it just to practice editing, good shit tho I tried finding if it was already done by someone else and ofc I don’t see it until now, will watch in its entirety tomorrow 👌👌
Only ten minutes in, and too much is cut already. Arthur beating the O'Driscoll in the barn is important narratively, because it establishes how they find out about the train job, which is the inciting incident for the rest of the story
Relevant to the narrative, but not important to it in my eyes. I truly judged every scene I cut. Remember just how thrown into this story a new audience is, they drop you in after the biggest event ever with a lot of catch up to do. In this edit, Dutch knew the O'Driscoll's were eyeing a train... somewhere. Dutch having general tabs on Colm isn't crazy, and he wouldn't be worrying about it during a state flee until the O'Driscoll's actually make themselves immediately known. At which point the train knowledge becomes relevant. My test audience had no issue, they were still trying to figure out what an O'Driscoll was or what Colm's relationship to the gang might be. Also, the barn sequence works as a tutorial but it's a sudden pacing drag smack between the shootout/dead body tension scene, and the Micah/Sadie fight scene.
