125 Year Old Homemade Bob Sleigh Design, I Built These Years Ago For My Snowmobile.

- Today I'm doing some long over due repairs and upgrades to a set of Bob sleighs I built quite a few years ago. These upgrades have been nagging at me for a while now...today I get at it and get them done. Can you believe the design I fashioned these sleighs are well over 125 years old..and in my opinion they are still the best design for hauling logs in the winter months.
Using my Lister/Petter Diesel generator I power our small Hobart 140 handler mig welder to do the repairs needed. I am also using my Makita 9005B grinder as well to clean everything up.
Good job Cecil! and Heather!
Hello my friend. Thannk you very much. You have a great day
Good job Cecilia and Heather ❤

Hello Brenda. Thank you very much. Cheers!
Well done, Bud 👍🏻😎
Hello Jorg. Thank you. You have a great evening.
Just a thought, make a skis for your trailer, adapt the front of your log carrying skis so you could put trailer ball on it, hook the trailer on and you have a adaptive crane trailer on skis that can be pulled by your snowmobile, unless it’s to heavy and to wide to pull through the trails.
Hello Dan..I've been trying to think of a way I could do this, But you are right..it would be way to heavy for the light suspension and axles on my snowmobile, and it is very wide :-( But I have been looking around for a good used set of tracks for our Kubota side by side. Thanks again. You have a great day.
Heather, you’re becoming a very good videographer!Well doneCecil!. Have a good day.
Hello, thank you very much. You have a great day as well. Cheers!
Great channel Cecil! Btw, Heather, you’re becoming a very good videographer!
Good job, If you have any orange paint left you could paint those uprights and easily find them if you missplaced them. Have a good day.
the bob sleighs bring back memories, back in the day when we lived on a farm
my dad and uncles went to pick up hay with the hay racks ,and bring hay back
for the farm animals.. jimbo
Those 4 arms would look good , painted orange so don't get lost in the snow . Cheers all
Hello Alan. They sure would..maybe when it warms up a little, right now it would have to freeze dry ;-) lol. Thanks again. You have a great day, Cheers!

Hello, Thanks..my love for snowmobiles does go a long ways back. I did learn to drive at a very young age, Thanks..I'm glad you enjoyed this video. You have a great day. Cheers!
you could spray paint each post and receiver set a different color on each corner, it would be even easier to match your post to its same colored receiver.
Hello Billy. Thanks..maybe in the summer when it warms up. Cheers!
Cecil you need to put a weld on the up rights, so they do not fall all the way throw.
Hello, I thought of doing that when I first built this sleigh...but if I got a little snow or ice on the posts they would not push down all the way to get a pin in. Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!
Ya did not think off that.@@cecilsshadetreegarage7408

Paint extensions orange if any left?? Anyway good work!
Hello everyone
Hello George. :-)
Hi Cecil. Love your channel. Can you explain a bit more detail of how the runners are designed? Looks like a flat steel with a rectangular tube welded lengthwise underneath. How wide/long are they? thanks!
Hello. Thank you. The runners are just an old pair of skis from an old snowmobile I stripped down for parts. Hope this helps. Cheers!
@@cecilsshadetreegarage7408 Thanks!
You are very welcome.
