I'm almost more impressed by the human microphone squatting the whole piece. Give that man an applause.
It's not that hard?
its only 3 mins long...
@@soulofartorias9928 This started in 2011, that guy had been squatting for 8 years.
best seat in the house i'd hold the mic
British colonial holding Qing scribes cup of piss circa. 1898
i am here because of two set violin hehehehe
Alors Gaming same suddenly in my recommended 👍
No matter why this video come up in my page XD
Actually I'm shocked when they skip the most difficult part
Lang Lang was two letter off from being born a genius
Sameeeee. But it didn't appear on my recommendations... so I actually searched it coz right now, I want it on my playlist.
saaaame
I love how the pianist is just having a blast the whole time.
+lithium135 Had never heard of him until I found this lol. I've seen some more of his stuff and now I understand.
+TA-20 Oh, you...
+TA-20 "The" pianist?????????????
!?!?!?!?!?!!??!
The other guy was having a great time, too. Even if his face didn't show it, I could feel it.
That Pianist is Maestro Lang Lang, you don't call him just that Pianist, it's LangLang!
*TwoSet Violin* has bring me here!
Now I am happy!
For the people who don’t like Erhu, their major complain is about its sorrowful tune. Although you can play whatever music you want with erhu, lots of (maybe most) famous erhu pieces are about unhappy expression such as loneliness, homesickness, life difficulties, sufferings etc. (For example, the most famous erhu piece “Moon Reflected on Second Spring“). Honestly, I don’t know why. Maybe it’s about Chinese culture; maybe it’s inherited in the characteristics of erhu tunes. However, there IS one famous “HAPPY” erhu masterpiece “Horse Racing”. Composed by Huang Huai-Hai in 1964, this music made its debut that year on 4th “Spring of Shanghai” erhu solo contest and soon became famous national wide. This music describes the horse racing event in traditional Mongolian “Naadam Festival”. Its simple rhythm is based on a Mongolian folk song “Red Flag Song”. Inspired by the folk song, the composer Huang successfully expanded the original 16-bar music into an international-wide famous masterpiece.
You are so right...
I don't like erhu when I was a child, now I'm turning to 30 this year, I just can't stop listen to it.
Chinese music play by erhu shows how ancient silk and bamboo's sound resonate complicate human feelings. It is especially sad when you hear in the lonely darkness by country people. I am glad musicians playing in modern creative tune.
Erhu is like chinese girl crying, Violin is like french girl crying.
Thank you for the explanation.
0:30 just looking over to check if the human microphone stand got his eye poked out by the bow
Omw😂
2:32 i think that's the imitation of the horse sound. So ingenious.
that is what the erhu is made to do
It is
ua-cam.com/video/ke-tbqaB4fQ/v-deo.html this one makes clearer sounds
Can't you get that man a chair?
Lol!
Or how about get that mic a stand?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂lol
I just watched an TwoSetViolin video about this song and I never imagined that it could be performed like this
I love to see Lang Lang improvising. It's a shame that we don't see many classical musicians do that nowadays
Because classical musicians are not meant to improvise. They are meant to play in orchestras, where they have to learn solo parts and sight read music, they are focused on interpreting the music, the phrasing, the tones, the ensemble playing. It's not a shame, if you want to see musicians improvise, it'd be more appropriate to listen to jazz.
@@jetons2582 It’s actually not uncommon to see improvisation in contemporary classical music. Also, examples of improvisation exist from the past as well (Bach improvising fugues, cadenzas in concertos being improvised)
When I lived in Chile and walking by Paseo Ahumada , there was this Chinese gentleman who stood every afternoon to play Erhu and this piece, it became a ritual for me to stay an extra hour just listening to him, I still keep the tape I bought before I left the country
love to hear it
A mic stand? Nope. Get a man in.
+DaveDexterMusic I thought it was pretty stupid......
LMAO
He wanted the chance to see the performance up close, obviously. Nothing stupid about that.
+xandercorp Obviously I was being a little facetious, perhaps this was spur of the moment and there were no mic stands in the building (?) but the human mic stand's feelings on the music are irrelevant, human mic stand has but one purpose
Cowgoesmoo2
Where’s your taste, man?
Just watched Twosetviolin playing this instrument and this song an UA-cam suggested me this🤣🤣🤣 They play it beautifull. I guess he practiced 40 hours a day 😂😂
No ling ling practiced more than that
Piece*.
@@Tomos_J-J ahhh sorry 😅 you are right 😂😂😂
So Ling Ling is better than even tho I practiced for 1-2 years?
@@diagonalley2384 we are talking about Ling Ling😜🤣🤣
thats the most rock and roll classical music ive ever heard
Ah. The horse race. The Chinese version of the Bumblebee.
big facts lmao
At least this actually sounds good
@frs 12 shut up boomer
@frs 12 no one said its a copy...
The 49 people who disliked this video are jealous cause their horse will never sound like Guo Gan's horse..
Who is here from twoset?
Lana R. me
Me
✌🏻
twosetter here giving you 420th like
Erhu makes such beatifull sound
The look on langlangs face seeing the erhu playing. Priceless
Just like a horse race, he left the other in the dust, reaching towards greater heights, the other catching up just in time, to barely make it through the first lap
I watch one TwosetViolin video about this instrument and wham. The UA-cam algorithm is whack.
On one hand it's a bit creepy, on the other hand that seems to be a case of the algorithm doing what it's supposed instead of sending you to like, Elsa Spiderman Pregnant Finger Family or racism
Swans Listener omg I used to get those stuffs a lot back in the day ...
中國了不起,世界僅有的二胡,我現在每天晚上,聽著聽著就睡著了,真好不吃安眠藥了,謝謝
Magnifique !
In my country, ehru mostly use in funeral. And for many years ago most of songs have ehru are sorrow and sad even it's performent for royal people. But hearing this make me see that I haven't discorver happy piece about this instrusment.
This infusion with the erhu is fantastic!
Lang Lang is having so much fun
what a beautiful and cherful song
Holy moly, their I dunno, musicality together, is amazing
Half the comments: twoset?
-sincerely twoset gang member
Who came from TwoSet?
Ling Ling approves
this is such a fun song
it sounds like they did a horse neighing at the end!
+Cathy Winters YES They did
You can make many animals sounds with the Erhu. He did that indeed. :)
yeah, thats supposed to be horse neighing.
@@yorganyog my favourite is mosquito
Ling-Ling has graced me with beautiful music
Horse Racing is the best song in the Erhu repertoire. I enjoyed this.
Without words, it's incredible, congratulations.
i love how lang lang just absolutely enjoyes himself
Qué músicos más fantásticos. Excelente don en sus manos.
Incredible. Amazing. Love it.
Can't stop hearing Eddy's horse everytime I see an erhu 😹
Who got here after twosetviolin? I like how the video where's them practice erhu for 1 hour and already in grade 3 level of erhu players, nice tho'!
Lang refreshes ideas of great french musician Jean Michel Jarre....but this is more ORGANIC & BRILLIANT ! ! Thanks for uploading !
I really hope Lang Lang does more things like this.
Everyone: twoset??
Me: woow what kind of violin is that?? Jajajajajaja
Yes, this is in my recommended after watching the TwoSet video too. Very cool performance!👏
Accidentally found this while looking for another song, so cool!
This is really amazing!!!!
Okay.. this is the best version yet, how did i just discover this.. I mean, all versions are Good but.. this F*ING ROCKS!!!
Awesome!
this sounds universally great ;)
Bro, this sounds amazing
Oh! very beautiful BRAVO!!!!!
Fantastic !
one of the few times I actually liked lang lang's playing. As an accompanist, he doesn't do all the unnecessary stuff he usually does and as a result sounds a whole lot better
Perfect duo 👌👌👌
wow, amazing performance, very interesting instrument this erhu, and you can tell Guo Gan a master of it as any violin virtuoso.
The Erhu is my favorite instrument
Damn that was crazy playing erhu player 😍
The human microphone love it
That’s amazing erhu music
Maravilloso!!!
i'm pakistani and i quite like that A LOT!

🐴🐴 amazing the sound of the hourse Chinesse music is aMazing
Lang Lang's father did it better
I agree
No
I agree
I preferred that performance as well
He must be the famous Ling Ling
Twoset Violin keeps ranting about.
#lingling40hours
excellent
Excelente y misterioso.
Magnifico
This instrument has such a beautiful tone!! Also there's something about this piece which I love so much but I can't explain it properly. Something like, whenever I see the piano or any western instrument doing a fusion with any traditional instrument, I never find those pieces interesting. They're always either really slow, just the piano place one chord and then the instrument does something interesting or maybe just plays a boring phrase. It just is really boring ninety-nine percent of the time, but this was just so beautiful.
Kudos to both the performers and the composer.
If you like the tone of the Erhu, I think you'll love this: ua-cam.com/video/tu5XohUR3Pg/v-deo.html
@@Tymdek That was TERRIFIC. Thank you for sharing. Never knew I'll see a "string section" made up of ruans and pipas.
There are so many instruments there which I don't know the name of. Do you have any resource where I can find out about those instruments?
@@amj.composerTo be honest I'm not sure. I don't know much about Chinese instruments, I just discovered this after TwoSet Violin made a video on the Erhu and I wanted to know more... But there is a "List of Chinese musical instruments" on Wikipedia, which I guess could be a start.
This song like Mongolian People's revolution march
Song: "Ulaan Tug-Red Banner"
piano tiles! 😀
The Chinese name of this piece of music is ”赛马“, which means "racing horse."
Now we should understand more of the rhythm and pace instead of saying "what's wrong with the horse."
WoW !
wooowwwwww,,,, !
wow
❤❤
i like how 100% of the comments are about twoset like people are dumbfounded that youtube would make that connection.
i want someone to look at me the way that pianist looks at the soloist
The Chinese guy did, listen to the one where Lang Lang played it with his dad, that is the original. This guy added a lot of personal element into this.
Where is the original?
❤
am I the only who completely lost it when I saw the man squatting down to hold a mic for the er hu
Seeing a world class pianist as an accompanist to an instrument is just weird
I like also like the version with his father
I like piano...
Not here because of two set, UA-cam just decided its time to recommend this to me randomly
I already saw one comment saying they're from twoset.
Haha
So funny and good XD
the guy's instrument that is not the piano, is called the erhu. my granfather makes them, but im note sure that he sells them or not. have to ask him. but he also plays it.
He and his dad did this too
