A day after Queen Elizabeth II passed away, the British national anthem, "God Save the King" was sung in the usual two verses at the end of a Roman Catholic Requiem Mass for her at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist at Norwich which was celebrated by the Bishop of East Anglia Alan Hopes. It was sung in memory of Her Late Majesty and in tribute to His Majesty King Charles III.
Long may he reign! GOD SAVE THE KING!

As a Protestant, please remember that it was only a matter of 150 years ago that recusent Roman Catholics felt they should not sing the British National Anthem. Nowadays we see and hear RC Clergy respecting and singing 'God Save the King' in Catholic Churches...HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED, AND FOR THE BETTER! Living in Northern Ireland, which STILL has a divide, I am PROUD to call my best friends Ronan Catholic....Religious Denomination is about give, take and understanding. There is also a version of this in Westminster Cathedral's Requiem Mass, offered by Cardinal Nichols. Of particular note here is that the bishop removed his zuchetto as a sign of respect.
I watched that one in Westminster Cathedral. But in what I heard there, the singing was a bit delayed from the organ music.
It is good that the Catholics have shown such respect to the late Sovereign of the country and to the former Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

I dunno how to explain it, but his voice just fits in really well with the organ.
