His problems seem highly specific. If I bought $400 headphones to use every time I was at the airport & saw a couple arguing, they’d still be in the box & I’d be so disappointed that it wasn’t worth the money to block out the imaginary negative energy that I hadn’t experienced 😂
Also, Won't blasting loud music on ANY cheap headset do the same trick? doesn't have to be 400$ or noise cancelling, really... At that point, get earplugs. lmao
Yeah, as someone who struggles with noise, cheap or even second hand headphones do the job. Over £50 to me seems crazy, and when I’ve paid more for headphones, like Bose headphones or whatever, it’s because of the audio quality, not the noise cancelling quality.
I don't know about podcasts, but when you speak at conferences the questions you get asked are always the same, with a new one thrown in there every few conferences. It's good to write down the questions and prepare for the future. Sounds like it makes sense that the same would happen on podcasts. Also most people are trying to figure out how to stop making up problems that didn't happen yet, telling people to actually start making up problems is such a crazy advice.
I think I get what he means with the inventing fake problems. He probably just means that if you are stressing about a hypothetical, you should put an easy „solution“ in place to ease your mind. Show yourself that the problems are not the end of the world. Mouse died? Have a spare one. Fear a tragedy will happen? Make good memories now so you can look back fondly. Fear losing your job?
