I once had a reservoir on any Oldsmobile start to leak where it cracked. I removed it, sanded it and cleaned it, applied some JB Weld and it never leaked again. Then again, you don't need this advice today. Good video, man!
I think your video was good, shows the struggle mechanics go through trying to get into small spaces, I would recommend getting a radiator pressure tester, it’ll help pinpoint the problem if it still leaks. Thanks for sharing!!!
Great video. I have the same problem with my 7130. Now i know what to look for. The video was a bit fuzzy on my phone. Thanks for your help. Have a great day.
we had a 6000 series tractor eatign coolant also ... turned out the top radiator tank had a hairline that was spraying the fan and didn't make a puddle.. just smelled like antifreeze. glad to hear it was a simple fix.
@@iowANFarmer I commend anyone who's willing to take the time to do these videos and put them selves out there. I look forward to your videos. Being a young farmer like your self I'm always looking to learn new things.
Ben , I thought the repair turned out great . This is how you keep your equipment in tip top shape . I know you can’t always do that during planting , or harvest. .
I just poped them rivets out with out unscrewing. Went to napa bought a bag of them just did this same job last week but it didn't fix it maybe I screwed up the o-rings. I didn't have to take apart fan shroud
Our7230 has the same deal...... But the rivets are used a lot on the interior panels in some otr trucks..... On those the center screw expands the rivet in place.... removed the rivet collapses allowing removal
Engineers should be a mechanic for couple of years beforehand! They jam pack the entire engine compartment. Tractors used to be so much easier to work on! Everyone needs a Blueheeler!
@@iowANFarmer yep both times, also might want to check the electrical for your a.c unit on ours where the ran it it passes through pulleys so we lost a.c on a 105 degree day
G'day, i asked my local JD dealer about after sales service, he said there's none as they don't break down....i nearly put him a brick wall, needless to say i have no JD equipment, even have a sign out front that says "Deer free zone" :) Anyway you did a good job on the repairs, cheers.
i was going to try that, but I didn't have the tool to do it on the tractor and I wouldn't be able to plug all the holes on the tank to keep the pressure in.
Nickel's worth of free advice . When you got that loader up like measure the cylinder "chrome section " and cut a fence post that size for both sides and lay them on top of them and then lower the loader . I would hate to see bad to you that can easily be avoided
Liked the vlog, looks like the new cars, ten pounds of mechanicals in a one pound area. One would think it restricts air flow and nice places for debris to pile and start a fire. But you got it done.
This isn’t a knock on John Deere at all but have you noticed how all newer equipment cars, trucks, and tractors they make it impossible to work on easily? They make a simple job hard to get to just hoping someone will get frustrated and bring it to the dealer. It’s a shame prices has gone through the roof it would be nice if there was some engineering designs that allowed us to to fix simple things ourselves easily.
Go down to Harbor Frieght and get you these tools for those push pins and xmas tree pins. Makes removing those things without damaging them soooo easy. www.harborfreight.com/push-pin-pliers-63700.html www.harborfreight.com/automotive/auto-body-trim/paneltrim-removal-tool-set-6-pc-63639.html
That is the just one of the most ridiculous john deere invention to remove.Have had that problem a couple of time usually when the weather gets cold and the orings usually fix the problem.
🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️.. 😂😂😂🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮,😂😂 didn't puke under me! To funny. My dog puked in the middle of the floor today. An it's been raining out side the pasted to two days an she doesn't want to go outside so she pee at the same time double the clean up.. 😑😑
For those wanting to know, replacing the o rings fixed the leak. There was no spot on the ground this morning!
Lot of respect for a Man that fixes His own stuff.
I like the shop vlog it was neat to learn along with you.
Thanks letting us hang with you , video was very good , a little more of the inter workings of the equipment.😀👍🏾🚜
casey5711 thanks for the comment!
Great video, you did a good job getting it fixed. Your dog added a smile to my face, poor guy. Hope he stays out of the burn pit.

You're welcome!
6430 Premium is one of the tractors I hope to own someday. They are a great all-around utility loader tractor and the perfect size for a rock picker.
They’re a solid little tractor!
Yep pressure check and might check to see if the coolant added to top up is JD compatible/recommended.
No leaks, good job.
God bless.
Nice video👍🏼 Love winter time shop work, Spring and fall not so much 😜
S always enjoy your videos very entertaining and educational keep up the good work

Do you have safety angle bars on the hydraulic cylinders of Loader? To prevent the loader from dropping on you.
You did a good job buddy. Keep up the good work.
Bob Kyllo will do! Thanks for the comment!

Great job! and only one trip to town for parts
Maintenance is key. Good job
Great video
The center of that rivet pops up with a flat head screw driver which allows you to remove it if its what I think i seen
Great job on the video very informative
How hard was it to get the two rivets back in? I have one to fix myself. Thanks!

Those tanks on those series and the next series tractors are the most inconvenient to work on.
Mark Feiling I was thinking the same thing all day
Our7230 has the same deal...... But the rivets are used a lot on the interior panels in some otr trucks..... On those the center screw expands the rivet in place.... removed the rivet collapses allowing removal
Farming for Fun & Profit did you fix the problem?
@@iowANFarmer Yep
How did you get that fan shroud so low? Did you disconnect the lower coolant hoses?
The yellow light that’s on in your dash, the symbol looks like a gear. It’s on in our 6430 dash too. Any idea what it’s saying is wrong?
Great video man

No doubt!
Great job as all ways enjoy it
Great job
I've replaced that seal on both of my works 6430's, one of the most frustrating and time consuming repairs
James Neighbors sounds like you know yesterday’s struggle. Was it the seals leaking both times?
@@iowANFarmer yep both times, also might want to check the electrical for your a.c unit on ours where the ran it it passes through pulleys so we lost a.c on a 105 degree day
I've destroyed stuff when repairing or dropping stuff (nuts and screws)! Love your shop. Ever had a steering and loader lift problem at idle?
I live in Victoria a very dry state in Australia. I work on a 3,000 acre farm with cropping and livestock. I drive a 6430 that has 6,000 hr on it.
One day I hope to make it to Australia to see the Ag there!
Entertaining, thanks.
I met an old guy he explained it to me this way. Fighting or marching it all pays the same, LOL! I thought it was a good video, they all break down.
what loan company use for the parts lol every time I order parts need a loan
You pull the center out on those keepers to allow them to come out. Kinda pop in and out like a plastic wall anchor
Andrew Peterson I cut out the part of me trying to do that. The screw heads just kept spinning and never backed out.
iowANFarmer on cars they push pull. But hey you got them done so no worries right. Like your videos
The screw heads are just dummy heads. Use a pick to pull them out and press them back in by hand.

you should have air pressure it up and the crack would’ve been visible just a suggestion

Might give that a try. I had it locked mechanically, but not physically.
hey havent seen your vids in a while hey quick question are you going to the farm machinery show in louisville kentucky
austin marion I won’t be there this year. Maybe next year!
@@iowANFarmer oh well i guess i wont see you there
Should have put a block on the hydraulic cylinder on the loader while working on the engine incase they came down unexpectedly

Hi, if you are still doing the PINS for subscribers, I live in Woodburn, Iowa. Also, I like watching your channel.
👍🏻
Perhaps you should have leak tested the tank before reinstalling it, cheap prevention.
Unfortunately I don’t own a tester
Will did it fix it
Jay Thomas I’ll let you know when I make it to the shop this morning.
You are lucky to so close to Sinclair and Van Wall. You can pick your poison. Lol
You’re correct... poison. $44 for the little I got yesterday.

Way too much plastic on the newer tractors!!! IMO!!
