I have been looking at bread pudding recipes for 45 minutes on UA-cam. Non of them had the texture I was looking for on the inside. Yes, this is the bread pudding recipe I was looking for. Thank you so much.
@jimcope5143 most of the time I use leftover of bun product that contain lots of cream, sugar 😋 but with bread pudding you make it up the way that you like it 😋
Perfect...my aunt use to make bread pudding with water and i never got her recipe. All the recipes here are with milk and yet I know from my parents milk was rationed during the war and to 1955, so the average person would use water .....
Im 56 , I’ve never seen bread pudding made before . Mum can’t remember exactly what she put in it , or how much , when she made it years ago love her . I can’t imagine she use cream , she could hardly afford to buy milk lol . I will make it now tho , and do like you say , but I’ll use sultaners in mine . That’s what made it a bit hard and delicious on top , the brown sugar , I’m one of 5 children and I always had the corner slice , so it was a bit more harder to eat . I loved it . This is the best recipe FOR ME you’ve ever done , it’s 3.30 am lol I’m watching stuff on my iPad , but I really should be changing my front room around , spring cleaning in November lol . Thank you very much . Us British make the best food Ever . Stay Safe . Saly
Thanks mate enjoy, I think the older Baker before our time would have used old gone off milk to use up, not sure if we could get away with that today, keep safe 😀 laters Steve
Bread Pudding always seemed to be the most affordable 'cake' in the old high street bakers where it might have been on display alongside the cream horns and fancy cakes which were way out of my price range and felt like such good value for money to a kid with just a couple of coppers. It filled you up, the fruit inside was always juicy and it was lovely and sweet with a chewy crust and the slices always seemed generous . Thanks for sharing.
Oddly in our shop, people don't buy it like the old days, things change so much, I never no what to make those days, don't have a problem on youtube 😉 😜
Yes, thank you, that’s grannies recipe she left her cook book and there was no recipe for bread pudding she made now I know why like you said it was guess recipe, the two recipe I loved was her bread pudding, and welsh cakes
The funny thing is I also have the Welsh Cakes as well 😄 but as everyone knows, Walsh Cakes are from Cornish. Maybe I will make some over the next few weeks or so 😀 enjoy laters Steve 😀
Hi yes you are right for bread and butter pudding, in the bakery when we make it if you had milk or cream just going off that most likely go in too, but with the base ingredients the bread pudding will be just as nice, enjoy Laters Steve 😉
This is just a base recipe, if you want it darker then add in dark syrup as well 😋 it's like a Christmas cake, just remember us professional Bakers only make this out of all old bread and cakes not sold 😋 enjoy laters
@@johnhire4438 funny thing John just found a recipe with pigs Offal, now that sounds not good for me, I just think bread pudding can be made with what every is in the pantry 😀😀
@@crazybaker1 yes but not pigs offal. I am 76, been making bread pudding all my life using my mum’s recipe, by the way it’s great steamed and served with custard. I bake every day, mainly bread but also many other things. My son is a baker and I envy him.

Then you have never eaten it, And what do you think the older folks eaten in days gone by, and today people eat this all the time, and great for wasted bread to save money 💰 and in the old days pigs eat the same thing, the farmers would save money by taking the old bread from the bakery's, today supermarkets do the same thing 😀 they give it to free food banks 😀
