- Sandglass70 by Fox Labs is a really nice keyboard with a unique design. Its a split ergo which is meant to help with tying fatigue and wrist pain. Overall, I really love the aesthetics of this keyboard, but the sound is questionable with the skeletonized plate. Let me know your thoughts!

For sure man. It's all preference. The sound test probably makes it sound a bit fuller than it is irl, but a lot of people may dig that. ❤️

Any recommendations on where to get the Wuque keycap puller?
I'd go with the Gateron puller for keycaps.
@@Clackbait you’ve tried both and recommend the Gateron puller? Why? The mechanism it uses concerns me because I don’t want moving parts that can fail
@@jammies701 yeah I do. I like that it's plastic and fits in most places and won't scuff your finish. The mechanism hasn't failed me and I've unbuilt a Lot of boards with it. Just my preference tho.

I love Alice style boards, but never tried a full split keyboard.
This is definitely priced like a higher end board but I'm still on the fence.
The flex is awesome though... I love the Alice style layout and appreciate a decent tenting for my old beat up wrists. How's the tent angle
It definitely is higher end. Fit and finish are all really good along with the packaging.

Beautiful board, but my quota for ergos is filled with the Bolsalice & Aster. After owning a Time 80 RE that looks great but sounds & feels pretty horrible IMO, I’m not too optimistic that I’d love the sound or feel of other keyboards from the same design house, though I’m hoping to be proven wrong in the future. Great honest review as always bro. 💪
Yeah no doubt the board looks great. Typing feel is good too. Sound just doesn't hit for me. It may work for a lot of people though. I appreciate you as always bro.

So close to getting it but I haven't seen any reviews with the non-skeleton plate so no one actually knows if it would help with the sound. like you said, it would have been nice if the plate was an option and not standard. Solid pass on this one. Really good looking board though.
I feel like oftentimes reviewers get sent out a less than desirable config, and I just don’t know why honestly. One I’m seeing often is a content creator who doesn’t like flex cuts being sent a flex cut PCB when the no flex cut PCB is offered.
Skeleton plate wasn't ready yet. They are making it based on the reviewers feedback.

This has me wondering about the science of why skeletal plates like this is undesirable. Half plates seem to have a similar idea and are reasonably popular in the mid-end scene. Fuller plates with no cut outs reverberate metallic ping less maybe? Not sure
You know I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking it could be since the switches arel held tight with the Skelton plate, it absorbed the sound but doesn't have enough surface area on the plate to resonate the sound back? Who knows, I'm not a scientist. Plateless is not held at all so no sound absorbing and you hear the switch? Good questions homie.
Man that's a beautiful board, but I wish Fox Labs published a sound test comparing the skeleton and full plates! Still a bit on the fence as to whether I should jump in on this GB :/

PCB is fine, but the plate ain't it. They do offer a regular plate though.
