I have been enjoying your videos, and finding your groupings unique. I know this is years after you published, but I do prefer the ladies posture in this to the current productions. It is reproducible by far more ladies.

Is this international or American style waltz?

Hello Egils, thank you again for this lesson. I was wondering - Does the word Corte have a meaning?

Thanks Alma for interesting question. I have no definite answer, but my guess is that it may come from Spanish Word “Corte” means cut. Like when saw goes forward and then is pulled back and cuts for example wood. All Corte figures have in common Man’s step back (Waltz Hover Corte, Reverse Corte, Tango Back Corte) Not sure this is to helpful explanation.

Hello Egils. When would You use Reverse Corte and when Hover Corte? Is there any rule which to use?

Thanks Janko for your question. Reverse Corte is with less swing than Hover Corte. Hover Corte can be extended in time to 2 bars of music. Also Hover Corte you can start from Promenade. Hope this helps you to decide which Corte suits for your routine.
