If they discontinue it for a few years, I’m fine with that. I upgraded from an old 32g iPhone 7 I had since 2016, to the blue 256g blue iPhone 13 mini. And I don’t mind hanging on to this phone for about 5 years or more until they bring back the mini again
I had the X and then went back to the SE 2016 before I upgraded to the 13 mini. The screen on time I have on this phone is really impressive, about 10 hours over the past 10 days with no battery saving tips applied. I love how small it is, it really is the perfect phone to have around that blends in to your life.
“Human sized” - thank you! I will never, ever understand why most people seem to prefer dragging tablet sized phones around with them! The iPhone 4 was the perfect size but this is the next best thing!
While I’m really loving the long battery life that comes with the 13 pro max as I use my phone essentially all day, and all the extra features with the camera and 120hz display, I do admit I kinda wish that I got the 13 mini for the easy grip around the phone and extra pocket space.
@Nicholas lmao, sometimes no. In skinny jeans (or fuggen leg corsets,) they’re an absolute pain, and sometimes the sheer weight of it makes it go flying/falling out of my hands.

Thanks a ton Ramon... You answered a question I was wanted to ask. Typically our cycling jerseys are of small size compared to regular pants' pockets. And currently I'm using a 6.1" screen.. Really considering the mini option for myself.
Got the 13 mini in the blue variant a few days ago, upgraded from a XR. The XR was my first big phone, and while it was nice with its large display and big battery, it was a hassle to use. Hard to fit in pockets, and with hands on the smaller side, I’d accidentally throw it instead of picking it up, happened a lot since it was hard to get a good grip. I missed the feel of a smaller phone, so I decided to try the mini. I was hesitant because of the battery on the 12 mini, even when the 13 mini released, all people had to say was that it was better than its predecessor but not as good as the Pro models, which is obvious. After a few days of use, I gotta say, I don’t feel like I’m missing out all that much. I feel comfortable leaving the house without a charger, plus I don’t feel like I’m carrying a weight in my pocket. I’ll be sad that this is the last mini Apple will release if rumors are true, people are too harsh on this line even though it can easily satisfy the average consumer. Edit: it’s been 3 months and I am satisfied with my mini. No regrets, battery lasts for me, and the size is perfect for me.
Hi, thank you for your review!!! Currently, I am a iPhone XR user and I would like to upgrade too! The mini is really interesting for me. My only concern is the size of the screen. Don't you miss any of the size of your XR while texting or reading??
@@raminhosaini8581 Personally, no, it’s not a big change for me in a negative way. If you’re weary about a smaller size, maybe go into a store that has them on display if that’s an option for you. I was able to adjust to the smaller size within the first day, might be different if you have bigger hands, but when it comes to consumption like watching videos and reading, I’m not bothered by the smaller size at all. Perfect size for me.
Going to get a starlight mini and sell my XR cause of this comment. I think big displays are overrated. You get used to the smaller display but i cant ever get used to the big size of my XR
I’ve had my 13 mini for a few days now and so far I really like it. Using it with one hand is so comfortable. Plus it’s display is so nice that I don’t feel like I’m watching on a tiny screen.
I love my 13 mini. Haven’t been this in love with an iPhone for years. I didn’t want to put a case because I don’t want to hide its beauty. But I was also concerned about scratches. So instead I put an Armour body suit in clear. While it won’t protect against breaks from a drop it will keep it scratch free while maintaining its original look. Also I use a Magbak wallet which protects the back. As for picking it up off a table just put it screen up. The camera housing on the back elevates it enough to allow an easy grip. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for the review.
I’m reminded of what Phil Schiller said during the iPhone 5 keynote in 2012. “It is really easy to make a new product that’s bigger-everyone does that, that’s not the challenge. The challenge is to make it better and smaller.”
I totally understand that it is best to consume content on a bigger screen, but for a daily phone, a small phone is waaay better. I find so annoying to fit a big phone in my pocket.
I bought this just last saturday, my very first iphone. I was worried at first because of the screensize and i have always used big android phones. After one day of use, i found the mini as a very worthy purchase. I love my 13mini ❤

I upgraded from an iPhone 7 to a product red iPhone 13 mini, and I’m loving the phone, battery life is amazing, I don’t use my phone much, I also use my phone with one hand often and the camera is amazing. I loved your review, but you forgot to mention that, in this iPhone 13 line, the notch is taller, making it that when going full screen on yt videos like mkbhd’s the notch peaks a little bit and is a little bothering.
I’ll miss the iPhone mini if the 13 mini will the the last one. I just went from a standard iPhone 12 to the 13 mini because I wanted a phone that can be used with one hand again, and the 13 mini is the only phone that can allow me to do that. Not even the iPhone SE is small enough to allow me that ability.

Great video jerry. But one of the top 3 reasons we bought or will buy this phone is the fact that if it breaks or scratches it’s ok no big deal. Also I don’t understand why all you UA-camrs that like and review apple devices keep saying “this is the last small phone, get it” or stuff like that. Make it seem like y’all new to apple. Yes this might be the last small flagship in maybe next 5 years, but apple is known to throw an affordable SE every few years, preferably in a smaller previous phone model and the usually sell like crazy.
Never had an apple device ever. always thought iphones were infrior. But i fell in love with this device, its small and i like the idea of a small phone after so much time having a big one, and my gf has an iphone 11 and the speed man, the fluidity is just insane I need this, but its too expensive in my country, they charge extra bc its imported, so ends up beign like 1320 dollars
Great review. Appreciated the candid commentary about going case-less, and that, at least for you, the lack of pro-motion is not a big deal given the smaller screen.
10:55 also, iPhones slips way too much. you simply put it on your lap, for example, and it slips/falls down. another reason to get a case is that it scratches way too much. white is fine. not others.
I certainly got my moneys worth out of my iPhone 6s before going to the 13 mini. Hopefully in 5-6 years when I want to replace this mini there will be another suitably ‘small’ sized premium iphone available at that time.
I just got my 13 mini red upgraded from iphone 8, i want to say that the battery is more that enough and the experience with it is so good, i am not used to face ID and sometimes is not responding but i think thats my foult, the screen is so much better, so i will recommand to people upgrading from a 6/7/8 if you have a pro model just get the normal one
Try Low Power! Your battery life will be greater, the performance hit is negligible and if you really need the speed, you can always turn Low Power off, but in actual use, I've not really noticed any difference. The trade off is worth the extra battery life. Typically, I have 64% by the time I go to bed (11PM). Give it a try. Btw, Low Power simply reduces the GHz of the chip.
@@diddymies True, if you need those for some reason you can always turn it off. More often than not you can live without them until you are ready to recharge but the point is that by using Low Power, battery life is extended for what you really need.
Grabbing this phone, Hopeing this will last me until Apple brings back Touch ID, and mini phones. Hoping this last me till iPhone 15-16 since 14 might not be mini.
Excellent video and Review for iPhone 13 mini. Amazing how your english is clear and fast…thank you for making this review…Apple should hire sales people like you
For those who may not know, there are tempered glass protectors for GLASS BACKS! I know of people that had it for their screens, and a case … they dropped their phone and the back glass shattered!
This is my first iPhone ever after a lifetime of androids and a windows phone. My last phone was so uncomfortable to use but it was too good a deal when i got it. Dropped it a few times performing hand gymnastics. I just had to pull the trigger on the Mini even if it was expensive af for me. Never spent this much on a phone before, but i have no regrets. Perfect size for one handed use, good battery life for my use-case too. I hope they continue making it.
ESR cases make the phone look much bigger than it should, with the screen lip bezels being 1.5mm it's huge, PEEL if you want a true ultra thin case are the way to go and if you want cheaper option Amazon's own branded cases only have 0.5 mm lip bezels
I switched from the regular 12 to the 13 mini earlier this month, and it’s been a JOY to use! The battery life is just as good, if not BETTER than what I was getting on the 12, and I no longer have hand cramps or need to do weird hand gymnastics to just balance my phone while using it. And the cameras are BONKERS on this thing. Such great photos and videos, even compared to the 12 from last year. Do I miss the screen real estate? Sometimes, but I watch most of my content on my iPad Pro 12.9 anyway. But on the go, watching videos, scrolling through emails, social media and webpages… they all look great on the gorgeous mini screen. Seriously, just pull the trigger and get the 13 mini. It’s a little beast of a phone! (And yes, the Product RED mini is GORGEOUS. I keep marvelling at how beautiful it looks every time I pick it up!)
Dude I love my mini BUT the battery is not better and stop lying. It’s advertised as smaller, it’s verifiably smaller and doesn’t hold as much charge making it smaller and worse. Even compared to your normal 12
@@Crimsontide1694 Okay dude, chill tf out. I’m not lying. Most of the time I’m getting through a normal day with more battery at the end of it than I was getting with the 12. I didn’t say the battery was bigger than the 12, nor did I say it held more charge. Yes, it has a physically smaller battery. And yes, based on the laws of physics it will hold less charge. But the battery is bigger than the previous 12 mini, plus the efficiency of the A15 chip is making that small iPhone 13 battery last just as long, if not slightly better than the regular 12 (even Apple rates it at 17 hours of video playback, the same as the regular 12). All I said was that I (me, myself, my usage) was getting just as good, if not BETTER battery life than I got with the 12. So no lies here. This is what I’m getting. Your mileage might vary.
Great review. New Subscriber. I like your style. Very concise and covers everything needed. Just ordered my 13 Mini in Product Red. I did order the clear magsafe case too, even though I did not buy the magsafe charger. Maybe I should have bought the clear screen that you showed? I ordered my iphone 13 mini after watching this video. @Apple did you understand?! Looks like there is everything I need and something more. Thank you! 256 GB Blue.
I'm waiting for the phone to get rid of the lightning port. With the iPads and the laptops already using USB-C/thunderbolt, I don't want to have to buy too many different types of cables and adapters. Hopefully that's next year.
Surely there are pros and cons bout the lightning ports, but it's surely super durable compared to usbC ports. Maybe they could upgrade how fast it transfer files would be good too tho.

iphone SE (2024) will be a iphone 13 mini with the A18 chip, no lightning-port, a touch-ID power button, and maybe LIDAR oder a bigger sensor
I hope they keep making the minis because I have had the 12 mini and just got the 13 mini and love them both
Never had an apple device ever. always thought iphones were infrior.
But i fell in love with this device, its small and i like the idea of a small phone after so much time having a big one, and my gf has an iphone 11 and the speed man, the fluidity is just insane
I need this, but its too expensive in my country, they charge extra bc its imported, so ends up beign like 1320 dollars
Great review. Appreciated the candid commentary about going case-less, and that, at least for you, the lack of pro-motion is not a big deal given the smaller screen.
10:55 also, iPhones slips way too much. you simply put it on your lap, for example, and it slips/falls down. another reason to get a case is that it scratches way too much. white is fine. not others.
Yeah, I do agree that this iphone 13 mini red color is beautiful !!!
I love my mini 12. I’ve been crying out for a human sized phone for years. I hope they keep this line alive.
Yeah. At least every 2-3 upgrades to lineup. I'd love to iPhone 13mini to become new SE.
@@piotrd.4850 I think it's better to be separated from SE. 13 mini have the same spec as the regular but smaller while SE have inferior spec.
6s since 2016 and just upgraded to 13mini. no regrets at all ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very nice!
I certainly got my moneys worth out of my iPhone 6s before going to the 13 mini. Hopefully in 5-6 years when I want to replace this mini there will be another suitably ‘small’ sized premium iphone available at that time.
I hope me going with the mini helps show Apple we still love small phones!
After use 13 mini almost a week now..even its 60hz it feel faster then my X..battery pretty good too..love it!
It’s 4 generations newer why wouldn’t it feel faster?
Starlight is very beautiful, I love it. Device size is fit for me.
I’ve had it for a couple days and I’ve had nothing but touchscreen issues I’ve seen lots of reports of people complaining about the same thing
wow. I do not have issues. Are you fully updated?
I just got my 13 mini red upgraded from iphone 8, i want to say that the battery is more that enough and the experience with it is so good, i am not used to face ID and sometimes is not responding but i think thats my foult, the screen is so much better, so i will recommand to people upgrading from a 6/7/8 if you have a pro model just get the normal one
This is my first iPhone ever and I just got it today. I have this same red iPhone 13 mini.
Very nice!
Btw, Low Power simply reduces the GHz of the chip.
it does also limit background processes
@@diddymies True, if you need those for some reason you can always turn it off. More often than not you can live without them until you are ready to recharge but the point is that by using Low Power, battery life is extended for what you really need.
This is a great and easy to understand review. Thank you!
Spot on as regards the color! Best looking product red in years, possibly ever.
Grabbing this phone, Hopeing this will last me until Apple brings back Touch ID, and mini phones. Hoping this last me till iPhone 15-16 since 14 might not be mini.
Upgrading from a SE3 to red 13 mini, cos that color is sick!
Great review. I really enjoyed it. I love my iPhone mini. I hope Apple gets their stuff together and decides to continue the platform.
It IS the best red Apple has done on an iPhone. Agreed. Just look at that rich, deep, dark red. Whooo!
I have an iPhone 6!
Same size as the 13 mini.
Still perfect for my needs, bulletproof and adorable.
My buddy for many years.
13 mini is smaller even!
@@JerrySchulze I should definitely check it out then!😎
Excellent video and Review for iPhone 13 mini. Amazing how your english is clear and fast…thank you for making this review…Apple should hire sales people like you
I love my 13 mini. I also don’t use a case. This is the perfect phone and the perfect size
How is the battery life
where were you hiding till now gentleman ? no nonsense and upto the mark intel. thanks for the review.
Carrying it NAKED!!! No case here. Love the form factor and with these giant phones would go away.
For those who may not know, there are tempered glass protectors for GLASS BACKS! I know of people that had it for their screens, and a case … they dropped their phone and the back glass shattered!
I love it. After a few hours then holding my bigger phone, I asked why I didn’t go smaller.
i got the 13mini alphine green... the only problem now is i mistakenly flashed it and now i cant use sim cards anymore
Dang!
I share a similar view
Am getting the red tomo. excited!
Very cool!
I waited since 2016 (iPhone SE 1st gen) for my 13 mini- it’s simply the best!
Got this exact phone in same colour I love it! Fits so nice in your hand 👍
I love my mini. Only thing is that sometimes I think my phone fell or I left it at home cause I can’t feel it in my pocket lol.
just got my red 13 mini today! i love it and fits my hands really well; more than my old iphone xr
Great review. New Subscriber. I like your style. Very concise and covers everything needed. Just ordered my 13 Mini in Product Red. I did order the clear magsafe case too, even though I did not buy the magsafe charger. Maybe I should have bought the clear screen that you showed? I definitely wanted a clear screen, because this color is too nice to cover up. My Wife has the 12 Mini and puts it in an EMF blocking Safesleeve wallet. They work well, but totally hide the phone. I want to see that Red in all it's glory.
I ordered my iphone 13 mini after watching this video. @Apple did you understand?!
Looks like there is everything I need and something more.
Thank you!
256 GB
Blue.
really great points Mr.Schulze
Thanks for watching!
That was a great review! And I’ve watched lots of them…
Awesome! Thank you!
I agree with the human sized phone, i am nearly in 6 foot mark and have very big hands but still find it hard to use the very large 13 pro max
Let me tell u the phone which u r using right now is the regular iphone 13 not the mini one, who s with me????
I have the iPhone Mini 12, I agree this along with the 13 Mini are the perfect human size phones.
Try using Low Power mode. You notice better battery life. Works well on my 13 Mini.
how do you feel about productivity, does the smaller size help you focus on work by avoiding being on the phone?
I'm waiting for the phone to get rid of the lightning port. With the iPads and the laptops already using USB-C/thunderbolt, I don't want to have to buy too many different types of cables and adapters. Hopefully that's next year.
Fingers crossed
Surely there are pros and cons bout the lightning ports, but it's surely super durable compared to usbC ports.
Maybe they could upgrade how fast it transfer files would be good too tho.
@@reign9771 it still proprietary and that sucks.
My first typed message on the iPhone 12 mini. The typing experience is not good! But the swipe type is ok.
The phone is great especially on a network Black Friday promotion. 128gb 12 mini for $120 CDN !!!! Brand new !!!!!
As with any change it takes a day or 2 to get used to.
I’d wait for the 14, but there are too many rumors that there’ll be no Mini. Getting a 13 Mini for Christmas….which probably be done anyway, since our iP6 are getting pretty long in the tooth.
You may like the product red mini. But, how do you feel about the new green mini?? I just got mine the other day in green and I believe it's my favorite of color options!
The best iPhone EVER
Thanks man! This is a really good review on the iPhone 13 mini. I think after watching your video I've made my decision on having this phone. Thank you very much indeed!
Thanks for checking it out!
I totally loved your review Jerry!!! ... im pretty confused about getting the 13 or the 13 mini... ´cause im a bit used to the size of 11, and 12.... so its a bit scary to swipe to a small one... but with your review I might actually get the MINI....!!! thanks
Very cool! And thanks so much.
I have a question, if I had the Choice to buy between iPhone 13 (128gb) or iPhone 13 mini(256gb). Which one should I choose.
Do you want a bigger phone or smaller? that is the only really question you have to answer.
@@JerrySchulze I personally want Smaller, the main question is firstly the peer pressure and society, stuff like that and second If I somehow in future become more indulge in gaming or battery consumption stuff But what I want is personally a smaller phone and that to in Red colour because of the cause(product red)
PS: Thanks You replied
PS: I now like red colour too
The red iPhone looks Gucci with a green case 👍🏻
Thank you for the review
A miniPro with tri-cam please. That would be perfect for me.
@@ericB3444 I’d rather have a bigger sensor
The camera bump would be half the phone.
I wish like that too
Been using the iPhone 6s up until this point where I just went and got me the iPhone 13 mini cuz it was about the same size at the 6s. I will never go bigger then that it’s just not practical.
The sound is great on this phone
This is a great review. Can't wait for my own iphone 13 mini in Red color... 💙💙💙
Awesome!
I'm using an iPhone X but I love the size of the 12/13 mini. One of those will probably be my next phone in a couple years when they're cheaper.
Great video mate
Finally a product red like my iphone 8 plus!! I held on to that phone for years just because of that red color!!! Currently have a 12 mini in green (absolutely REGRET the color) but have my eye on the red 13 mini. Is it true that its slightly thicker than the 12 mini? I love my mini cause its so thin, like the 8 plus, also love that its basically the screen size of the plus models, just slightly more narrow
Just slightly thicker, not noticeable on the mini unless holding right next to 12.
