For the people talking about the audience - this is a typical Australian mid sized audience. Aussies tend to gaffaw and titter and leave it at that. We don't do a lot of whooping and carry on.
Similar to us Brits really. Not sure why people who are blatantly British are complaining about the audience when that's exactly how a British audience reacts too. It's only really Americans that do the whole whoooping thing. :-)
He's 'Essex boy' working class. Probably spent little time around any upper class people his age. Also, there are still a few upper class 'stereotypes' like that in London , mostly older, and in investment banking. Oh & that aristocrat family in TV show "The F***I g Fulfords": The Dad in that was exactly like Russell's stereotype.
What's wrong with the audience? It's a small audience, it's not the fucking Apollo, it's a pub crowd. The audience are loving it, and Kane is very popular at the Comedy Festival.
Ummmm. Just so Comedians and the 'aspiring' Comedians commenting here know, you can't really treat 'The Audience' as an Aemobic Entity with a hive mind. It doesn't really work that way. I realise that you (in some way) have to disassociate yourself from that 'Entity' as part of your gig and that in some way you have naturally become desensitised to it. But it's not the Audience's fault you have bombed. Can you see how those comments are perhaps a tad condescending? I would look to your routine rather than a bad audience for excuses. I've always been fascinated by this aspect of "well you seem like a great audience". What an absolutely ridiculous thought process. "That he deserved a better audience".......ridiculous 'Comedy Jargon'. Just Look where the untouchable right to say anything to an audience ( because it's comedy) got Michael Richards.
Underrated. amazing energy and stage presence. The accents too are incredible.
Not underrated at all
I've watched this a few time now. Amazing really. So clever.
Awesome .... And so accurate
Poor Russel, you can tell he's struggling to keep his energy with that lacklustre crowd. Top guy, one of my face stand-ups.

Beyond fabulous.
Biff and Scooter lmfao!
He's fucking great. Body movement and mannerisms get me every time

His take on posh British stereotypes are outdated. But distinction between between posh and working class British people showing affection is great.
Wow you just killed the humour.

From another Australian commenter here that's a textbook Australian audience really enjoying themselves.
