Thank you Andrea and Amit for a fantastic video of a stretch of line i have ridden on many times. One thing i saw I found surprising. The high water level in the River Aare between Brienz and Meiringen. It looked very close to overflowing.

Ihr Schweizer seid einfach zu beneiden: ein super funktionierendes, sehr gut ausgebautes Schienennetz gepaart mit herrlichster Alpenlandschaft 😊
Wenn ich mir da die Eisenbahn in meiner Heimatregion ansehe: Katastrophe, eine einzigste Katastrophe - wir müssen froh sein dass der Fahrplan so einigermaßen eingehalten wird und überhaupt noch was fährt, eine Still-Legung ist in Zukunft nicht ausgeschlossen… 🙄
Auf jeden Fall bin ich sehr froh hier zumindest am TV „mitgefahren“ zu sein!!!

It curves a lot less than many narrow gauge lines, in fact the fast, sweeping curves (well, 80 km/h or so) and the nice long straights are laid out much like a main line

On the 12th of August, 4 weeks after this video was made, 1,5 km (ca. 1 mile) of track (between 15:00 and 15:30) was destroyed by 60.000 m3 of mud- and rockslides caused by torrential rains and thunderstorms. There will be no trains running between Interlaken and Meiringen until at least the end of September 2024.

Thank you for your feedback. We have also noticed it, however there isn’t any issue if you can watch it in 4K. Quality is good in 4K resolution and it is available in HDR.

Speed? Train speed presented here is a regular speed during this section of the journey
Maximum speed of these trains is apparently 100 km/h (60 mph), which is impressive for narrow gauge

Turning on the light isn’t needed for driving through a tunnel. In Japan, will a driver suddenly stop a fast running train after seeing a person or animal inside the tunnel? No driver should do that as it will jeopardize the lives of many people on board. In Switzerland, most of the railway tracks are protected through electric fences, to deter animals
