Thank you for making these videos! I have my driver's license since a year now, but still anxious when it comes to driving because I struggle with reversing and especially parking. I live in a small lane where manoeuvres are needed if there are cars coming from the opposite direction, and just the thought of driving in that situation makes me feel sick. Your videos are the best I've found on UA-cam to help with understanding the logic, so thank you so much.

Photocopy of insurance certificate & green card (for travelling to republic of Ireland) In file at home: logbook, receipt for VED, (car tax) all invoices for repairs, invoice from when I bought the car, current & previous MOT certificates, full insurance certificate with all the details. I also keep a photocopy of both parts of my license, in case I lose it anywhere. For security reasons, avoid leaving documents with your address, personal or financial details inside the car.
Thank you soo much Sir. Your videos have really helped me throughout my driving lessons, especially on how to drive smoothly with the gas pedal. God bless you.

Thanks for the video. I failed my test on this menuvour. Didn't use full road (went as far as I could without hitting anything) But also took 7 attempts (they want it in 5) I watched for everything and everyone and didn't move when there was. Was put down as a serious but no interference or speech either as it's a test. I felt It should of been down as a minor offence as main reason was using less road so took a bit longer. Any massive tips on how to work round this.
Hi, I've been driving over 20 years, I taught my partner to drive an auto and she passed first time. I'm now teaching my daughter since all driving instructors here are fully booked. I noticed you crossed your arms when steering, is this allowed now? I was taught to shuffle and never cross. Also, I was taught to apply the handbrake on the 3 point turn when stopping to change gear, is this also not a thing anymore?
Hi Richard! Thanks for your tips. Your videos helped me improve my driving with my instructor (although I do constatly have to bear in mind that in the UK everything is reversed :) One tricky part about U turns for me is turning across a median lane with a traffic barrier (I'm not sure if I'm using the right terms, what do I call it?). I have issues judging how sharp a turn I should take and sometimes end up hitting the median.
I'm not sure what you mean, but when it comes to judging distance there is no way someone can help you, you have to learn by trial and error and it's different in different cars.

What is your view on rule 130 and especially the "unless it is necessary" part? Can you make a solid argument that U-turn is "necessary"? Obviously you went for it.
Hatch markings are there to separate flowing traffic so if one side needs to use it (passing a cyclist, parked car or waiting to turn right) the space in the middle is available.
Great video! May I know what should be the clutch & accelerator position when taking u-turns? I usually avoid pressing the accelerator as I am scared that if someone appears suddenly in front of me - which is quite common here in India - I might press the accelerator instead of the brakes.
I have recently passed my adi licence in Northern Ireland and we have been taught "there is no signal this car can give to tell others that you intend to do a 3 point turn". As Richard mentioned in an earlier post" no signal is better than a bad signal" It's also worth noting that if anyone is around to benefit from your signal then you probably shouldn't be doing a turn anyways. I hope this helps.
They haven't called it a 3 point turn in over 50 year's, took my test 47 year's ago and all I had to do was using the width of the road was to turn the car into the opposite direction.
I have a question. So am in very early stages off learning to drive. A close friend of mine is showing me the ropes in his car first before I move onto a proper a driving instructior (I get the 1 hour insurance each time I use his car) So the other day he was showing me how to do a 3 point turn. I struggled really bad at first as he was telling me to only turn when the car is moving. On my 3rd try I did what you did in this video and turned the wheel before I took the handbreak off and he said this is cheating and if I did this during my driving test they want instantly fail me. So my question is. During your driving test when it comes to doing 3 point turns are you allowed to dry turn before moving the car? As doing it while the car was stopped was so much easier. But apparently I was cheating
You can steer when the car is not moving on test. It's is not marked as a fault in the UK. Many people believe this causes excessive wear to the car. I used to believe this myself as that's what I was told but I gave it a go in my current car. 18,000 hours of use later (which is more than most people drive in their lifetime as it's the same as 30mins a day for around 100 years) I've not seen excessive extra wear.
Ok thanks. It's little bit different than UK here in Australia. When you do U turn or 3 point turn, you must indicate your intention to other road users. In this case U have to give right signal. Thanks for your tutorial and the video you make which really help
In my car proper 3 point turn happen in 4, if i do in 3 my back sensor making beep although I did not hit curve is it fine if I use to avoid beep then take 4
Can you please upload or link me a video of when changing from 1st to 2nd I dont know why i struggle with that Other gears are fine but 1st to 2nd i struggle 😔
You shouldn't do a U turn if you will affect traffic so therefore there is no traffic to signal to. However, if there are any pedestrians on the pavement it may be a good idea to signal so they know what you're doing and can avoid crossing the road.

How to signal when making a three point turn - should I be putting on a left and right signal or hazard lights?
It's best to use the signal you think will help the most for the current situation bearing in mind that no signal is better than a misleading signal.

Should one be contemplating a u-turn when there is a traffic island in the middle of the road?

Great video! May I know what should be the clutch & accelerator position when taking u-turns? I usually avoid pressing the accelerator as I am scared that if someone appears suddenly in front of me - which is quite common here in India - I might press the accelerator instead of the brakes.
