    Thank you, everyone at one started with Basics, your giving more people the knowledge to get started. Showing the directories where things got installed answered one of my questions GeekMustHave

    Love it! I wish all the tutorial where so well organized and to-the-point! Wish I had found this video when I first started with Arduino IDE about a year ago. I believe I'd have been a bit more productive. Nice work! Your video is a very well prepared and executed tutorial where you touched on just the right points, just enough to make this a very instructive tutorial without any hot air or bloat. Very well prepared and nicely executed! Thank you!

      Thanks Adam, there are more in depth videos out there, but I like to make videos showing how to make things work without having to know everything about it, since sometime you just want to do something and move on to someting else :) Thanks for your comment and for watching!

      @@BrainybitsCanada You bet! Thanks for making a great video! I get so tired of having to wade through an hour long video for one bit of relevant info, when there is not as much organisation as you've provided.
      You didnt let yourself get bogged down on details people should really, already know and you provided exactly what you set out to! That's a great video and I wish there were far more good ones lol!
      Keep up the great work and dont get to vicky as some people when they think they know everything and start talking down to people. I wont tolerate those people, eve if they do have good information. Nobody is better than anybody else...
      At least in my book. Again, keep it up man! I look forward to a Node MCU Video. Maybe an alarm clock with 4 those 8x8 Led displays?
      Hehe wishful thinking!

      I'll keep NodeMCU in mind for future videos. Thanks again! Cheers!

    I always like "basics" videos... great for newbies, good refresher for others, and if it is too basic, you don't have to watch it. Bit of an "Owie" on your arm?

    • @BrainybitsCanada
      @BrainybitsCanada  7 років тому +1

      Yeah the "Owie" was a gift from the young and "Big" new member of the familly Mika the Great Dane! She's 6 month 1/2 and already weighs over 80 pounds! And those nails hurt :) Thanks for watching Garth!

    • @BrainybitsCanada
      @BrainybitsCanada  7 років тому

      I know that "basics" videos might be boring for some, but I want to add some of those to my UA-cam channel for people who are just beginning, so they can have the information if needed. Like you said, I'm not forcing people to watch it :)

    • @garthhowe297
      @garthhowe297 7 років тому +1

      I hope you are going to spend some quality time training Mika. When my 8 pound Papillon jumps up, you barely notice ... 80 pounds and growing, would put you on the ground.

      @Blondie SL I know what you mean, I've worked with people like that :) As for the tutorials, sometimes you just need to know the How! without having to know the Why? Thanks for watching!

    I'm not that familiar with Windows, but unless it's different than the other OS's, there should be an option in properties that will allow the user to designate a specified location for libraries other than the Documents folder.

    Do both of the IDE and the library folders have to be in x86?
    I believe my IDE ended up in documents folder, and works with hexloader, but, when I try to load libraries from github I get an error stating no directories found.
    I also tried the zip way too.
    I will try moving the folders to C drive to see if my results are better?

    Why is it that Arduino's own website couldn't include a video or a set of instructions like this?
    What does it say about a company that makes such basic things (how to find and install libraries) so inaccessible?

    I had a library issue with Windows 10. When I installed a library it was not recognized because Arduino was installing new libraries inder ...Documents/Arduino/libraries, yet the compilation was looking for libraries under C:/Program Files x86/Arduino/libraries. Fix was to copy the contents of C:/Program Files (x86)/Arduino/libraries folder into the folder ...Documents/Arduino/libraries. Renamed folder "libraries" under C:/Program Files (x86)/Arduino to "libraries.old" then created a symbolic link to ...Documents/Arduino/libraries:
    mdlink /D "C:/Program Files x86/Arduino/libraries" "C:\Users\\Documents\Arduino\libraries"
    So now when I install a new library I dont have to bother copying it to x86 library folder!

    You want to a zoom class with me on how to do the librarys and just copying sketchs and making that part work. I don't know what i'm doing wrong?? Just old and stupid i guess. I'm more than happy to pay you for your time. I just need someone to bring all this together for me cause i love hobby electronics and i'm made a living doing car electronic repair but this coding got me stumped. Looks so easy when you guys do it and I copy everything step by step but yet it doesn't work??
