Oddly enough, I actually find that my drawing is better when the reference/drawing feels off. I think it just forces my brain to see things I might otherwise tune out. I also have severe ADHD though, so that might have someone to do with it. 😊
It's never too late to learn. I'm 66 and am going to try this. I wish our art teacher at school had been this imaginative. Instead, she told us to do something, gave no help or advice, then just criticised when it wasn't "good enough".
@@debbiethomas3687 mine was so similar! i remember she asked us to make this art out of cut up construction paper, and she told us to “be creative”. she failed me on mine because “it didn’t match the prompt”. My grandma was my goto art teacher tho, she grew up on Bob Ross and always told me to not worry about what art im making (be it good, bad, simple, unfinished) and to just do it. it’s about the ritual and peace you get from it, not the result.
I’m 25 and getting back into art! I was constantly putting pressure on myself that if I made something, it HAD to be professional. This lead me to stop creating for years. When I found her videos it helped me to start making art for fun, rather than to be “good”. Art is healing and expressive. Art is for ALL ages and ALL skill levels. Have fun and never feel like it’s too late to start, because it’s not!
My highschool teacher had us do this cause we we doing an art/science class on endangered animals. We each picked an endangered animal and had to paint them this way. It was so much fun. 10/10
I have two @@Noreen_Ni_Riain I gotn one from a breeder in Michigan and the other I imported from Hungary. I love them so much. As for grooming, I have never been one to take my dogs to the groomer but honestly I'd never need to with these two. It's more grooming required than say a pittie or other smooth coated dog, but way easier than any drop coated dog. You want them to get matted, you split those apart, and then you just let it go. Most of it is just prevention (of debris or excessive dirtying) and a long bath with lots of sitting in front of fans every few months
Thank you so much for sharing you wisdom and talents!! Your videos are awesome! I'm going to try this one with my friend's dog for her birthday. I know she's gonna love it!! I remember seeing these type of portraits at a vets office and loved them, now I know how to create my own! Thank you, Andrea!! 💜
Pro tip for anyone who doesn't have a printer: put the photo up on your computer screen (if it's a laptop, lay it down so the screen is flat and set the base against a wall or something else for support, and put the image upside down if needed). Make sure not to press too hard or lean on the screen
Thank you so much for sharing this . I have been very nervous recently. Too many things, overwhelming events. I am going to try this technique to calm down a little.
OH MY GOODNESSSSS!!!! i just LOOOOVED making this for my daughter's upcoming birthday!!! i am SO TICKLED at how good it came out and how good it made me feel making it!!!! i am even going to have it professionally framed so that she & hubby can hang it in their first home they just bought... THHHANNNKK YOUUUU SO MUCH for what you do and how you help people while doing it!!!!
I just found your channel and you are inspiring me! You're instructions makes the painting so achievable. I got water colors and paper in my Amazon basket lol
This is adorable. I'm going to show this to my granddaughter and try to convince her to make me a portrait of my great granddoggy. Yes I'm a dog mom, aunt, and great grandma!!!
I did this the the other night, but I used carbon paper on a canvas intead of the sheet protector and yellow marker on water color paper.. It's not quite as cute as yours, but I had fun, Thanks for the cute idea.
I work best with rules. I tend to not do art, because I can never decide what to do, or where to begin, or even the colors or the medium! Too many decisions to make, and my ADHD absolutely prevents me from starting at all. It's so damn aggravating. But, these videos have really helped me, and have given me the ability to do art again, without all the pressures of the decision-making processes. My brain and I, both, thank you! ❤😅🤙💯
You are like the artsy kindergarten teacher I never had
This gives "stained glass window" vibes. I love it!
Exactly what I was thinking.
I played today for all of my MS classes. Thank you for inspiring my students to create!
bless you❤ thanks for doing what you do
Reverse the photo first so it comes out the correct side for your transfer. Otherwise, it may feel “off.”

this is such a good tutorial! im saving this to try it out. feels a little silly at 23 but i am a firm believer that it’s never too late to learn.

Love it, clear concise, no unnecessary complications.
I love this! No one will ever have the same one, even if the entire family draws the same photo of the same pet!
This is so great when you have a dog that isn't just a fluffy mess of cords!
That would take hours...but maybe worth it?
Oh wow, you have a puli? They're so rare! Or did you cord another dog? Was it hard to find a good breeder and groomer?

Love it, can’t wait to do it! Thank you!
I love the finished art! The finished product reminds me of stained glass! It looks like it can strait out of beauty and the beast!
I'm getting back into my creative groove, thank you for making things less scary ☺️
This is seriously so cute!😊
I just did this twice and it’s so wonderful to play with!
What a terrific project! I can’t wait to do this for my sister’s adopted dog. Thank you for the best ideas! So much fun!🐶❤
I love this!!! Easy and also challenging, limiting and also freeing, super fun!
I LOVE this technique!!
I love your videos, it’s just about the level of art I would be able to do. The Angst of the white paper is very very real.❤
My favorite new artsy channel
This is so cool. I would have been so much more confident in art learning as a kid with stuff like this.
Tipp for everyone you will need an alcohol based black marker, or else if you spray water on it a water based marker will smear
I love love love your style!
