Hey, just a question about your tire size. You mentioned in the video it's about a 33" tire but the size you wrote here is about a 30.5". I have the original OEM tires on my 2017 and those are about 29.5". Can you please confirm? Thanks
Did you have to adjust any of the sensors (lane keeping, adaptive cruise etc) when you installed the lift? Would be great to have a new review to hear how things are holding up
@U Betcha think a lot of those bro-dozers are too afraid to say anything to you in real life 😂 but one of my buddies who was a hard-core truck guy (had everything from half tons to full ton trucks) and dogged on the Ridgeline…he just purchased a Ridgeline and took back everything he said…said it’s the best truck he’s ever owned.
I have a 2019 Ridgeline, love it. Put a 2"Traxda front and rear lift with Falken 265R-65-18s. Rained 5 days straight, went to the dump and didn't even spin in all the mud. was in mud mode
I bought a 2013 Ridgeline Sport in May, its the perfect size and the bed is nice for hauling some stuff and camping, and it can offroad enough, at most dirt trails in the mountains for camping is all I need it to do! Can't wait to try it in the snow! Also the power it has when you punch it!
@@Tomlin80iu It's the RTL w/ AWD. I just popped it into "Snow" and it sticks to the road like Velcro.😀. I've driven all sorts of things in every imaginable weather and this just blew me away.
@@1davejames1 I've never had a Subaru so I can't really speak to that based on my own personal experience the utility that comes with the Ridgeline i that you can't get with the is pretty amazing
I gotta say that I'm really impressed with the torque vectoring system, not only on the snow but also when taking those curved interchange ramps on interstates at high speeds. You can really feel that outside wheel "Pushing" you through the turn. Nice looking car seats btw.
The Ridgeline doesn’t have enough ground clearance and approach angle for difficult off roading but it is very capable. VTM seems to work like Toyota’s A trac. It’s a good system for most uses a daily driver would encounter.
I think that the Ridgline is a great crossover truck. It will fit most people’s needs magnificently. However, off-roading and high frequency towing are not its sting suit. This was a wet dirt road. It will shine there... especially at higher speed driving. Not so much in the rough stuff. I saw one overheat the transmission on a dirt road in Colorado just going up in elevation for a while. The drivetrain isn’t going to hold up to adventures very long....
yea and I've seen Silverados, rams and everything else overheat too sooo I don't quite see your point lol. Sure it's not optimized for rock crawling, but it can do it if it needs to
I'm buying a 2021 RTL-E as soon as they get to the dealer. I'm not an avid off-roader but I like the overall utility of the Ridgeline, especially the trunk in the bed. I carry various emergency gear in my car's trunk and until the RL I would have to stow that stuff in the back seat. It also has plenty of power and has a much more comfortable ride than most trucks.
The issue with the ridgeline is that it doesn’t have enough ground clearance to do anything more than light off roading. Those powerline trails can be handled by 2WD work vans. I used to run my Subaru Outback down trails like that(8.7” clearance) and the main issue I was running into was bottoming out. Skid plates are only insurance. If you bottom out and the wheels lose contact with the ground or you damage the power train you’re as good as dead. A Tacoma or Colorado with a 4”+ lift and underbody protection is ideal.
The independent suspension also gives a lot more ground clearance than a solid rear axle with the differential hanging down. Traction is also better with all four tires more squarely planted on the ground.
Truck owners always bash the Ridgeline because they say it's "not a real truck" but honestly in most situations it's going to take on terrain like this a hell of a lot better than the competition.
Most owners aren’t going in the woods with deep mud and trying to climb rocks. This mid size will handle your snow and situations if got a bit stuck or hit a slippery slope. Great reliable mid size truck. Yes it’s a truck not a Honda Pilot. The transmission and suspensions are beefed up and has the 3.5 engine.
Love the look. Are those 17x9 XD Monster 2 with +18mm offset? How did you get those to fit on the Ridgeline? Did you use bolt adapters to fit them and if so what kind and how much more does that pop them out? I heard too much positive offset can cause more rubbing than just going with an 18x8 wheel and 30.5" tire.
If only Honda offered another inch of ground clearance, all terrain tires, and a full size spare (basically as you have equipped here) then that would well handle probably 95% of pickup drivers' "off road" uses- beach, snowy roads, and occasionally muddy gravel roads.
Is there any loss of traction when turning onto and/or accelerating on a wet road? I'm curious if the AWD feels instant or have you ever noticed a delay?
I have a 2019 RTL-T Ridgeline and i get complements often on the look of my truck and I only have my wheels changed to 20's with a +35 offset to make them sit out a little more and tint on the windows. best truck I have owned to date. I hope Honda will make a Type R Ridgeline with turbo one day. LOL
I love the way your tires look on your Ridgeline, and I'm going to get a similar set for my 2019. Can you please confirm the size you went with is 265/65/17, and if you're still happy with them? Also, any thoughts on how the over-sized tires affect your speedometer and odometer? Thanks so much!
If this truck had a 4 cyl diesel i would buy one but im sticking with my Colorado diesel. The Colorado diesel gets over 30 mpgs and goes 650 miles vs your average 300 mile gasser
Thanks for the video. Have an accusticom 2.0 emf meter and milligauss meter. Would like to know how much emf is emitted from the cockpit with all the electronics, radar and sensors onboard. If bluetooth is on and/or wifi the readings will be at hazardous or unhealthy levels. I'd keep those off. A healthy reading is under .05 v/m with the accusticom and about 5 miligauss. Do this test if you have any of this handheld test equipment with the cellphone off or in airplane mode. EMF has been classified as a class 2 carcinogen. Overexposure can cause all kinds of health issues. Other newer cars have levels in the 100+ miligauss range and people are complaining of headaches, lightheadedness, illness and other things.
What size rims and tires do you have on your ridgeline? I have a 2018 ridgeline sport. I want to in the near future to put new rims and tires. You also have a lift kit right? Thank you.
Still not a "real truck." It's kinda better. Like a Swiss Army knife with every tool you'll actually use. Why would you get a Swiss Army knife with a corkscrew if you never drink wine? To have it?
BTW I do have a 1.5" leveling kit up front. XD series wheels are 17" with -18 offset, tires are General Grabber AT2 265/65/17.
